"I also have had poor experiences with this facility. SOME of the employees care about the residents, however those employees are treated terribly by management in front of residents and visitors. There is an outrageous turnover due to the poor work environment, severe understaffed positions, and incompetent administrators. Upper management does not follow the company's code of ethics, they should not even list them on the website. Residents are not taken care of properly due to the short staff. Several residents have been moved by their families due to the poor care their family members have received. Have you seen how many CNA job openings there are at this facility at any one time? They can't possibly be at full staff ever! If you have family members or friends in this facility, please keep a very close eye on these residents. "

"The people at Ascension Living Via Christi Village Pittsburg were very polite. They gave me all the answers that I needed. I got to visit three rooms and they were very clean. They were doing physical therapy with a resident, which I was great to hear about because they can give my mom five days a week of physical therapy that she needs to get back on her feet. This place was just incredible. I met the receptionist and the RN on duty who showed us around. In the section that my mom would be in, there's an open area where we could visit there or in her room. They also have other places where you can go and visit with a bigger part of the family. It had a couch, a TV, and magazines. I like that they have places where the residents in the skilled nursing area could visit together if they wanted to. (If you wanted to visit outside of that area, you could as well.) They have all kinds of activities such as puzzles, bingo, dominoes, coloring, crossword books, and just things that keep them busy. They have a nice spa for the residents where it had exercise equipment, a Jacuzzi area, and things like that. Their check-in and check-out process is awesome. She did it all on a machine. They print it out, you get a ticket, then you can just go in. You don't have to go through something where somebody has to come to you, take your temperature, you have to switch out masks and all that."

"My Grandpa was recently moved to this facility. He had been in a facility in Grandview Missouri where he was from but we decided it would be best to move him to Pittsburg where he has more family. First off I would like to talk about the staff. The staff members at Medicallodge are all very friendly, and seem to be very concerned about patients health and well being, the only problem is they are usually short handed and have problems trying to fullfill these goals because they are to busy. Next I will talk about the food. This is one area where my Grandpa has stated he is not satisfied Portions are small and they have the same meals all the time. He would like to have more variety and be able to choose from different things instead of having one set meal. Next I will talk about the overall cleanliness of the facility. The facility seems pretty clean but is definetly outdated. They are trying to do some remodeling at the time so this is something they are addressing. One thing I do hope they address in the remodel is the wiring as well. The electrical wiring itself is fine, but when it comes to the wiring for cable TV and satelite it is outdated. My grandpa could not get phone service through the cable TV provider because cable company told us the cable run was to old and did not support the phone and cable service. All in all I would say Medicalodge is an average facility. Really the only time I hear my grandpa talk bad about it is when we ask him about the food, have heard no other bad comments from him. "

"Praire Mission is a very hospitable facility. You are greeted by friendly staff and it is a much homier atmosphere than any other assisted living facility I have ever been in. There is a lot of one on one time with each resident, and they are made to feel at home. This is sometimes quite a task, I would think, whenever someone is asked to move from their own home to one of these facilities. There are many activities available, too, so that the residents can stay active and associate with other residents. The therapists that they employ are definitely top notch. My father-in-law was in a wheelchair when he arrived and by the time he left a few weeks later was using only a cane. The therapists worked with him everyday, twice a day, except Sundays. That was the only free day that he had the entire time he stayed there. I would definitely recommend the Prairie Mission Retirement Village to anyone who wants a caring, loving atmosphere to send a loved one that is no longer able to completely care for themself. "

"This facility goes out of their way to make the residents safe, healthy, and happy. My mother was there and had very good care, and she was very happy while there. "
