I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

We just moved our mother in The Colonial Home. Our experience so far was awesome, it was great. The people that worked there were just awesome; they're really good and they seem to care. They have family-style meals or home-cooked meals three times a day, and they have them go out to eat in the main area dining area. There's also a little living area with a piano, and they can also go outside on a little veranda. They have lots of chairs and rockers and things like that where they can go outside if they want. It's a small facility, so we saw the same staff people three days in and out. We met the people who are going to be her caretakers and they asked about what she liked and things about her. They try to help each one individually by what they need. The food looks awesome. They have activities for them and I think it's really good value.

All of the nurses and staff have been awesome to my sister. I have visited many different times at all hours and have always seen the staff be polite and thoughtful. I have sat and had coffee with all the residents who seen happy and content. They have been extremely helpful with my sister .

My mom has moved into The Colonial Home. We chose this one because it was the closest to her sister and her daughter, which is her main concern. It is also small, and I feel like she gets more attention there. So far, it's been great, and she has had no complaints whatsoever. She is able to come and go as she pleases. They are taking care of all of the Medicaid processing and the VA application, so it was really easy. The staff members are great, she loves them, and she especially loves Nicole and Tammy. She loves the place, and she said it's OK.

My aunt is in The Colonial Home. The facility is fine, it's clean, and everything, including the people are great. It's an older facility and is all one floor, so she can get up and walk around. The staff is awesome, Kirby is outstanding, and the nurse who takes care of my aunt, Caylee, she's outstanding also. My aunt seems to like the food; she hasn't complained about it or anything. They take my aunt out and let her walk around the building and let her pick out some of the flowers and let her do stuff like that. If she has an appointment, they take her to her medical appointments; they're really good about doing that. If she needs anything they'll contact me right away and will let me know.

I visited this facility

The Colonial Home's director was very nice, answered all my questions, and obviously loved her work. The people there seemed to be pretty happy. It is a little shabby so it needs a little maintenance. The carpeting was a little threadbare in parts of the building, but not the whole building. The residents there seem to have a good relationship with the manager and the cook was very cheerful when we were in the kitchen. They were making Christmas cookies that time. They have an activity room, and the neighborhood was nice, on the hillside with nice trees. The parking area was good. They have somebody who comes in and helps with hairstyling. It's a very simple building. I only met the cook and the director and they were both very nice and good.

My sisters are living in The Colonial Home. It's beautiful and clean, and the dining room has wonderful meals. I would feel comfortable sitting down with them and eating. The girls that work there are absolutely wonderful. They play card games in the dining room and have singing groups that visit. I'm very impressed with the place. The dining room has four round tables with four chairs at each table and a beautiful centerpiece. It's just very comfortable, soft, clean, and has good food. That's certainly where I want to go when I do have to go.

I visited this facility

The Colonial Home was very nice, clean, and neat, and had spacious rooms. I saw the dining area, and the food was good. The residents looked comfortable in the community. The lady who took me on a tour was very nice. I would recommend this place.
