Nursing Home Communities in Ash Flat, AR

"My mom is staying at Southfork River Therapy and Living Center. It's a nursing home, and she has to stay in the memory care unit. It has a lot to be desired compared to the other place. It's institutional. She has a roommate. She doesn't participate in any activities. They have some, but it is minimal. Most of the people back there are in wheelchairs and can't even talk. They're just old people who need long-term care. The interaction with the staff is really good, though. My mom doesn't require any care. Her meals are given to her, and she's pretty independent still. She just has to be there because of her dementia. It's clean. They keep it up well. Esthetically, it's nice. It can't be very homey, though. They got a bunch of old people who pee and poop in their pants all the time, and it's kind of what it smells like. I think they do the best they can."

"This is an excellent facility. My only complaint is that they seem a bit understaffed. There were time when we were there that Nana would need something and it would take about 10 mintues for me to track someone down to help. It is a clean and secure facility. There are also many activites available for the residents. I would highly recommend this facility. "
