My mom is staying at Southfork River Therapy and Living Center. It's a nursing home, and she has to stay in the memory care unit. It has a lot to be desired compared to the other place. It's institutional. She has a roommate. She doesn't participate in any activities. They have some, but it is minimal. Most of the people back there are in wheelchairs and can't even talk. They're just old people who need long-term care. The interaction with the staff is really good, though. My mom doesn't require any care. Her meals are given to her, and she's pretty independent still. She just has to be there because of her dementia. It's clean. They keep it up well. Esthetically, it's nice. It can't be very homey, though. They got a bunch of old people who pee and poop in their pants all the time, and it's kind of what it smells like. I think they do the best they can.
