"My Dad spent almost 2 years at Grand Brook Memory Care of Grand Rapids. It was the best decision my sisters and I made. Staff are very caring. Eventually the people (staff, residents & resident's family members) seem like a 2nd family. The activities director is very loving and keeps the residents busy with various activities. I never thought my Dad would play bingo! I especially connected with the maintenance guy who is much more than that. He, like all the others, not directly involved in the care of the residents, do more than just their "jobs". Everyone knows the resident's names. If you are looking for memory care for your loved one, I would recommend this place."

"I like Rivertown Ridge. It's newer. It's four years old. The people are very friendly. We went through independent living to their memory care. They were very helpful. People were coming up and introducing themselves. They have a large area for walking, a tennis court, and a lovely outdoor pool. It's just a nice feeling. In terms of cleanliness, it's very clean and very well taken care of."

"Mom was at American House Jenison for three weeks. The staff was very friendly. The nurses called me to find out how my mom was when she went into the hospital. They're just very nice. They worked very quickly to get my mom a little apartment there when she was in rehab. It was a smooth transition. They made it happen by coming over to the rehab facility to get my mom all signed up to go to the American House. She was in a studio plus. The food was so much better than the other rehab place. My mom barely ate at the rehab, but she was pretty into it at American House. I think the lighting was a little dark in the hallways. I know they're kind of working to get that lighting updated. It wasn't a real joyful walk from the dining room to her room. Other than that, it's a nice facility, and it's smaller, so they get a lot more personal attention. Upkeep and maintenance were good."

"My mom moved to Commonwealth Senior Living at Grand Rapids. I like that it wasn't too large for her. There are a lot of beautiful facilities in the Grand Rapids area, but this would seem to suit her personality more. It has beautiful views of a pond and some woods, and my mom seems to like the food. On certain days of the week or months, they will have different musicians come in and play. They do crafts and bingo. They do a "Travel Around the World Series" where they bring exotic places to them, so that's fun. They do a lot of different things. They also have a hydroponic garden that grows green leafy vegetables, which they watch grow and then consume."

"The Cortland Wyoming was very nice. However, the colors of the rooms were pretty dark. Other than that, it was great. They had a lot of extra things for seniors. They were awesome. They were very helpful and very informative. The rooms were a little small. The common area was awesome, though. It was very welcoming and comfortable."

"My father-in-law will be moving here. It's beautiful; the apartment that he's going into is very clean and spacious. The bathroom facilities are wonderful. The staff was very informative and very friendly. The dining area was very nice. It's still kind of short because of the COVID, as far as being able to eat in the dining room itself, but it's coming back. It looks very nice, and the chef even came out and introduced herself to us. The activities are limited right now because of Covid. They have a spa and a fitness room. They have a beauty shop, a nice library area, and a nice little bistro area along with their dining room. It was very nice and very clean, I was very happy with them."

"We went to Golden Orchards. It is a beautiful place, and I know several people there. It was very clean. It always looked nice when I visited other people. I've never heard anyone complain about the food. They were very nice and didn't look dated. The thing that my cousin didn't care for was that they didn't have a shower in the room. They have a bathroom with a sink and toilet, but you have to take a shower in the community room. I've seen people working on puzzles together and playing cards. They have a bus that takes people around to different restaurants. It seems like they take good care of them and keep them busy."
