"It was fine, and a lovely experience. The staff was lovely, informative, and helpful. The rooms were fine, adequate, clean, and well laid out, however, it was a bit far away. It's welcoming, small, and it had a nice garden. They have a bus, and they try to have activities for the residents. The dining room looked like a restaurant."

"The visit at Addolorata Villa was very nice. The staff was very friendly and open. The dining room was a little darker than I would like. The woman who took us around knew everything that you needed to know about the facility, and knew all the people there by name."

"My father has only been at Belmont Village Buffalo Grove for a few days, but so far, so good. We chose them because of the staff and the location. They're all very helpful and very personable, and I got a really good feeling when my dad and I visited them. The facility seems very well kept up and a little formal. My dad was a little intimidated because he's a more relaxed kind of guy, but it's very clean and very nice. He's really liked the food so far. He said it was excellent. They had a wine and cheese night last night that I know he went to. He said it was really fun and he enjoyed it. I know they have a wide range of activities going on every day, like they print out a full schedule that they put on their door every morning. They have a little cafe that's open during the day when the kitchen isn't open. There are complimentary beverages and snacks. They have a full library and a computer center. They have laundry right there. Everything's readily available. They have all the doctors onsite and everything, so it's been good. It's not cheap or anything, but you get what you pay for."

"Arden Courts of Northbrook was a really excellent place for Alzheimer's patients. The rooms were small but nice and clean. The staff that I met seemed very professional and very caring. They had sing-alongs. There were small dining areas in four different wings, so that the patients don't have to go far to eat. The staff know the patients and the patients know the staff. They're comfortable because they know where they are and what they're supposed to be doing, which is important for Alzheimer's patients. "

"My sister moved into Lakeview Memory Care Community and it's working out just beautifully. I couldn't say enough nice things about it. So far, it's the most tremendous place I've been in. When I first went in, it just seemed like it would be perfect for her. And I haven't been disappointed at all. It's just perfect. They are tremendous people - the nurses that they have there and all the help. I have not had one unpleasant experience. They've all been just purely wonderful experiences with all the people there and the care that they give my sister. I haven't found a place better than this. We chose to be in a room with a partner because it's cheaper, but it has been tremendous. It has turned out just perfectly. She has a wonderful roommate. The rooms are so well-kept, and everything is so clean. Every day they're cleaning the room and do what's necessary. They shower her twice a week and they care for her other needs every day. We're not allowed into the room where they eat. I think it's a good idea because they want them to get to eat and talk with each other. If they have a family there, then they never get to communicate with the people who are there. So, I think their idea is very good to do that. She has enjoyed the activities and they have activities every single afternoon, which I think is remarkable. "

"My sister was living at Ciel Senior Living of Long Grove. It's very clean and very friendly. Their approach was excellent. Their food was sufficient, but it could use a variety. My sister's room was more than adequate. It's a nice size. She was in one with a bedroom, a front room, a kitchenette, and a bathroom. They did Scrabble and bingo, and they went out for lunch."

"Sunrise is such a great place! Unfortunately, they didn't have availability. When we visited they only have one large shared room available. It has a bathroom and a kitchenette. It can help residents save money which is good but it wasn't what we were looking for. I find their cleanliness and staff outstanding. "

"Clarendale of Addison was very nice. They were brand new and a little smaller. They overlooked pretty much just parking lots and cement, but facilities were close by. They had an exercise room. They certainly had a dining room, which was lovely. They had a cafe in between. They had a flooding problem that they were fixing. It was brand new and looked nice."

"It is very clean. The rooms are spacious, and the staff is very accommodating. The caregivers are awesome and my friend seems to like it. She is a level two memory care and they could go up to level six. So, that was a big plus for us. The day that we went to visit her, they gave us some sliders and some pancakes, and the food was good. Once you leave your room in the morning, you can't go back into it unless you need to use the bathroom. The doors are locked and they don't want people hanging out in their room. They have group sessions, tdo arts and crafts, do physical therapy, and play games. She'll play bingo, they watch movies, and they have visitors like dogs that come in. So, they keep the residents pretty active until it's time to go to bed."

"Sunrise of Park Ridge was really nice. We liked the way the building looked, and the people who walked us through were very friendly. They knew their business. They knew what they were talking about, and they were very helpful. The facility was very clean, very warm, inviting, and nice looking. Their rooms were very nice too, and they had everything my sister would need. I liked the fact that it has a kitchen and a small refrigerator that she could have a few things in. Their activities were very much what everybody else was offering, and they seemed to offer a wide variety of it."

"The staff is the friendliest nicest group of people I have ever met. The apartments are gorgeous and the food is fantastic. Stress - free and maintenance free living that’s generally makes you happy. Sedgebrook has such a wonderful environment that I’m convinced that people live longer and happier lives than they would otherwise. Enjoy Sedgebrook when you are young enough to participate in all the activities. Don’t wait!"

"I toured Sunrise of Buffalo Grove. It was excellent, but also much shorter in one room. There was one room that had furniture in it. I saw the model of what they said would fit for my mom right now. That's all I looked at. I didn't get their layout, and I didn't get a calendar of their activities. They told me about what they do; that there's doctors and staff. They have much more things available too. They have immediate care and staff, 24 hours. They have more nurses on staff, doctors come in once a week, and there's physical therapy. Everything that you need. They have life alert. They come check on you and do medication management. There's the food in the restaurant area; you go down three times a day. She did say that they have an afternoon snack down there. There's activitities, but I didn't physically get to see a calendar. I'm not sure what they do, but yesterday I got a folder with the menu and a calendar of everything for the month. It's very cozy."

"The Sheridan at Park Ridge was wonderful. The facility was very clean and very nice. Our favorite thing was that the garden was right off the memory care. The rooms were very nice. They were not huge, but perfect for what my mother-in-law needed. Their dining area was very clean and very nice. The staff was wonderful, accommodating, and answered all my questions. We met some of the people that run the activities. They do bingo, art, and singing. You are also included in the regular assisted living when they have different performers. They have little outings on their bus. They have a big TV and sitting area."

"The people were wonderful. Julie, the one who gave me the tour, was phenomenal, and their follow-up was very good too. They would call me just to let me know how my mom was doing. The rooms were beautiful, and I would move there if I were old enough. To me, it was like a cruise ship without a casino. I was really impressed with it. My mom's doing great now, but if there's a change in anything, I would definitely move her there."
