"Brookdale Riverwalk was extremely nice and clean and they've got friendly staff. The activities were good and they had an activities director and a calendar of activities every day. The residents have a pendant or a bracelet that they push to call a staff member, so no matter where they are in the facility, whether they fall down or if they need help, they can get help. They've got a gym and a salon, too."

"My mom is here. The location is amazing. The facility is beautiful, new, clean, and smells amazing. My mom is in the memory care section, and it is very nice, clean, and well taken care of. Also, my mom has been taken care of very well. I'm very pleased with the care she gets there. They get her up every morning and get her out into the center. I like that their memory care section is one big, open section in the middle where all their rooms open into the middle. So they get all the residents out into the center where they have their breakfast and do activities. They're able to interact and see all the residents in the middle. They have an outside area where they can go and sit. They also have different games that they play all day. They have TVs where they can watch movies, do arts and crafts, and do gardening. They have nice rooms, which have a nice closets. The bedroom is nice, wide, and long. Everybody gets a separate bathroom there. It has a walk-in shower, and it's handicapped-accessible all around with pull tags, poles, and handrails. It has two windows that look out, so it's a very nice room. They don't have any shared rooms. Each resident gets their own room. They call me all the time, give me updates, and let me know things that are going on with my mom. There are always daily specials, and you can also order off a menu."

"I found Real Care LLC, which I think would be suitable for my friend. I have reached out to the VA to initiate the process for extra funding, since he was active duty. It's brand new. The amenities, the kindness of the staff, and the services they offer are exactly what we need. It's organized, and since it's brand new, everything just seems fresh."

"I had an in-person tour of Redwood Senior Living Bakersfield. The thing I like most is that they are willing to accommodate you. They provide diapers, which a lot of places won't. There's always someone there to help you bathe. They bathe you every other day, which is fine. They pay for cable, and they even furnish a monitor by your bed if you need assistance. It was a lot more affordable than most places in Bakersfield. The director, Anthony, he's really, really nice, and very caring. It's a little older than some of the other buildings. I talked to some of the staff there, and I met some of the clients, and they just said they love the place. If you go there, I feel that you should keep an open mind. What caught my eye is that they're willing to help me out with my sister-in-law with different things she needs and the price because everybody has to watch their budget. It's an older building. It's in an area off of Union, and a lot of people don't like it because it's an older area. When you look at the inside, the pricing, and all help you can get, that doesn't bother me one bit. I think the man told me they had someone to come in to do hair. I know they do a lot of games. They have a church there, and they have people come in to play music and do activities. I like the idea they have church and that they have activities. If you have to go somewhere, the ride is free. Where my sister stays right now, it costs me $3 every time she needs a ride. They have a van, and they'll transport you to the doctor or dentist's office for free. That's another plus and another saving. So that's a big deal."

"My uncle really liked The Pointe At Summit Hills. The apartments were very nice and the place was very clean. We were checking out their assisted living and memory care, and Bridget was very helpful and very nice. They do exercise, they have activity rooms where you could go in and play bingo or different games and stuff, and a theater that you could watch a movie in. Everything looked really good. I was very impressed with it."

"I had an in-person tour of Carrington of Shafter. We were really pleased with the level of compassion and the helpfulness, and they were just very willing to do whatever we were going to need. It was really just an amazing service. I really liked the space, that it was very homey. It didn't feel like a hospital. Their doors were open, and the residents were not just shut up in their room. It just felt really comfortable. They do provide working with care facilities around the clock. They had activities. We just felt like as close to home as I felt like it was, I suppose, the acceptable feeling in the environment that would be not clinical."
