Our assisted living residents are between the ages of 80-95. We are located in Bocage area of Baton Rouge which has a higher population of older seniors. Our residents enjoy tailgating for football events. Attending musical events both on-site and off-site.

Our community offer Live with Purpose programming. This program focuses on enriching the lives of our residents through volunteerism, artistry, music, fitness and religion/ spirituality.

Sunrise offers transportation 5 days a week for medical and non medical transport needs.

Our culinary team puts a lot focus on good healthy food for our residents and lots of options per meal. Our dining experience is catered to the changing needs of our residents. Our culinary team is able to modify diets based on any medical concerns along with accommodating family members and friends who dine with our residents.

Our community is one of a kind. Our entire assisted living is secure. We also have a concierge at the front desk 7 days a week until 6:30. Our community is staffed 24/7 for our residents safety needs.

Our wellness team has scheduled meeting with our family members to keep them updated on any changes taking place with our residents. These meeting can occur scheduled or at family member's request.

Our staffing ratio is based on the acuity of our residents. This allows our staff to reflect the accurate needs of our residents.

We have a walking path around our community with plenty of space surrounding our assisted living for our community pets.
What ongoing senior care training does the staff receive?
Our staff has ongoing training which begins once they're hired and continues routinely throughout employment. The training includes, dementia care training, dining standards, HIPPA, infection control, ethics and CPR.
How many staffers are on duty in the daytime and overnight?
Our staff model in memory care is based on resident acuity and census. Our normal schedule is 4 care managers from 6-2 and 2-10 and 2 care managers from 10-6. this number can increase as the needs of the staff change.

Our assisted living has a special dementia care neighborhood Reminiscence. This neighborhood is designed for residents with cognitive impairment. It's homelike, intimate and spacious. It also includes an outdoor sensory garden.
What programs or activities does Sunrise of Baton Rouge offer to keep residents engaged? How does the staff engage residents' long-term memories?
Our community offer Live with Purpose programming. This program focuses on enriching the lives of our residents through volunteerism, artistry, music, fitness and religion/ spirituality. Our memory care neighborhood also has Life Enrichment Managers. who gets to know the resident: their experiences, talents, preferences, and abilities. The LEM then creates a plan to reinforce each resident’s identity and allows them to experience meaning and purpose each day. LEMs undergo training that helps them assess individual interests and abilities, which can be matched with life skills and activities that tap into implicit and procedural memories.
Who assesses residents' health and cognitive functioning? How often is that assessment repeated?
Prior to a resident moving into Sunrise, they're assessed by our Resident Care Director and Resident Care Coordinator. That initial assessment is the foundation to the Individual Service Plan that's created to communicate to care staff on ways to meet the residents needs. The assessment is repeated every 90 days or if a significant change occurs, it will be updated as needed.
What techniques does Sunrise of Baton Rouge use to support memory care residents during mealtimes?
Our staff can assist residents by verbal cues to encourage and remind them to keep eating, actually feeding the resident and placing them in a community style seating with other residents to encourage eating and conversations during mealtime.

our community sits within the Bocage area. We have well maintained neighborhoods surrounding the community. The Country Club of Baton Rouge is across the street. We are less than 2 miles from major hospitals. We sit in the healthcare district in Baton Rouge. Our community is easily accessible to both interstate 10 and 12.
