I found the 'Legacy Personal Care' facility because I was interested in talking with someone about dementia in the elderly because my mother has dementia. I made an appointment to sit down with one of the staff. She took time from her busy day to listen to my problems and experiences with my mother and give me advice. She also let me see the facility where the members were sitting together in a room that had very nice furnishings. The room was very bright and airy and seemed to be a very inviting and comfortable place for the members to sit and chat and watch TV and do other activities. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the facility compared to other facilities I had ever been in. It was actually like a nice hotel. The lobby and offices were well appointed and even the restroom that was available for the members was decorated with pictures and flowers and candles just as if it were a bathroom in anyone's home. The staff member was extremely empathetic with me and gave me other information that would help me with my mother. She in no way pressured me to bring my mother there as a client/member/patient. A Couple of months later she called me to let me know of a seminar about dementia/Alzheimer's in the elderly and about guidelines for the caregiver. I was impressed again that she would take time to call me about this seminar. The seminar was not a part of their facility nor affiliated with the facility but was something she thought I would be interested in and that would help me. I felt that this facility is staffed with very genuinely caring personnel and if, in the future, I need a place for my mother, I would feel confident they would provide excellent care for my loved one. I would recommend this facility highly.
