"My father was in Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. I think they took pretty good care of my father. I was well pleased. It was a good-sized facility. They had two large areas for the people to congregate, and they had staff that really watched over him. My father tried to get out of the facility and they had people on each shift that guarded these doors and made sure that nobody got out and he never got out. He was trying to get out five or six times a day and it never happened. He has dementia and even when he wouldn't sleep at night and he would get up, the nurses would let him sit with them in his wheelchair at the nurse's station, and they'd watch over him. There were some things I wasn't thrilled with, but they were still pretty good. They took good care of Dad. I was there when they took my father to dine at a table, but I didn't eat with him. They would sit him with people that he would be talking to and be chatty with, and they would group them together, which I thought was a good thing. They had bingo, a lot of stuff, and card games, but my father wasn't able to do that. I saw my husband's aunt participating, and there were so many of them that participated with the card games and the bingo. It was a big hit. They seemed to be enjoying themselves."

"I found the 'Legacy Personal Care' facility because I was interested in talking with someone about dementia in the elderly because my mother has dementia. I made an appointment to sit down with one of the staff. She took time from her busy day to listen to my problems and experiences with my mother and give me advice. She also let me see the facility where the members were sitting together in a room that had very nice furnishings. The room was very bright and airy and seemed to be a very inviting and comfortable place for the members to sit and chat and watch TV and do other activities. I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the facility compared to other facilities I had ever been in. It was actually like a nice hotel. The lobby and offices were well appointed and even the restroom that was available for the members was decorated with pictures and flowers and candles just as if it were a bathroom in anyone's home. The staff member was extremely empathetic with me and gave me other information that would help me with my mother. She in no way pressured me to bring my mother there as a client/member/patient. A Couple of months later she called me to let me know of a seminar about dementia/Alzheimer's in the elderly and about guidelines for the caregiver. I was impressed again that she would take time to call me about this seminar. The seminar was not a part of their facility nor affiliated with the facility but was something she thought I would be interested in and that would help me. I felt that this facility is staffed with very genuinely caring personnel and if, in the future, I need a place for my mother, I would feel confident they would provide excellent care for my loved one. I would recommend this facility highly. "

"My husband stayed for two weeks at Parkview before he passed away. His room was spacious. The staff was okay. However, I was not very happy with them. My husband had already passed away for two and a half weeks before the administrator called and asked how he was doing. "

"Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center was nice and very clean. When you walk in, it's a very welcoming atmosphere. I talked to the director there and she was very nice and very informative. They took us around and showed us the rooms. You felt like your loved one was not just going to be another person. I felt like they really cared about them. The facility was well kept. I just saw an empty room, but as you walk in, it's welcoming. It's not dirty. The carpet is not bad. It's kept very clean from my observation. They had a nice dining area. The director was really nice. I met the receptionist and a nurse, and they were all very friendly. I didn't have a bad feeling about any of it, although I didn't see any residents. I would place my mother-in-law there."
