Assisted Living Communities in Paducah, KY

"My aunt was in Gaither Suites at West Park ten years ago, and she was my mother's sister, so she was familiar with it. I went there three weeks ago, and it was very nice. I had no problem with it. The two staff I talked to remembered my aunt from ten years ago, and they were very nice. It was a little smaller facility than the other one we visited, but they were both very nice. It's very clean, modern, resident-friendly, and it was set up very nicely. It was convenient for me because it's fairly close to my house. It's just a senior living facility and laid out just for them. They had a nice outdoor-garden area, a small gym, a beauty salon and barber shop, laundry facilities for those who wanted to do their own -- or they had laundry service -- and a dining room. You could also eat in your apartment if you wanted to. It's fairly near the mall."

"Rivercrest was such a blessing for my mother and father it was so nice knowing that they both was loved and taken care of ! Kallie fell in love with my dad and he just loved her.She would go out of her way to be so helpful she would even go check on him him he had to go to rehab and I could always call or text her "

"I toured River's Bend Retirement Community. They were very helpful. The staff showed us various rooms. She went through and explained things. She was very, very thorough. They were good. The rooms were good sized, and the bathrooms were better than where my father is at. The place itself was very clean when we were there. They offered washing and they did a lot more than where my father is at."

"My wife is doing all right there. Well, she wants to come home, but I could not take care of her here by myself because she needed more rehab and professional care. I think her needs are being met there. Their cleanliness is fine. They're constantly cleaning their facility. It's the best facility around here. It's a nursing home but there's one section of that facility that's strictly for physical, speech, and occupational therapy. So if you have a specific need, they have a specific area for that so you get focused treatment. The nurses I've had contact with, and the CNAs, and the social workers are friendly. Really nice people they have there. I have no complaints at all. The rehab people are really nice because they know the patients by their first name. Right now, that's where my wife needs to be; to get the help she needs and I'm comfortable that she's there. "

"I had looked here and it was a nice enough place. I thought the rooms were spacious. The staff was accommodating. It would have been all right if my husband needed an assisted living, but he didn't. What he needed was a nursing home then. "

"I visited Southgate Senior Living on 10th Street in Metropolis. It's independent living, so they don't take care of you. They give you a place to live, fix your meals, do your laundry, and clean your room and apartment. You have to be able to take care of your own needs, medical bills, your own medicine, and all that stuff. It's a nice place. I looked at a 2-bedroom apartment and a studio apartment. The lady I talked to several months ago was nice. The one I talked to just a couple of weeks ago, I didn't think was very friendly. She began to tell me what I could not use in that house. She said my wheelchair wouldn't fit through the doors, but I know it would because I'd been in there before with it. She tried to talk me into not moving in there, so I don't know what was going on with her. They had a nice dining area, and the rooms were nice. I didn't have lunch with them, but the residents were sitting down to eat. We've seen everything that they were doing, and it all seemed nice. They even invited us to stay for lunch. The staff in the dining room all seemed like they were sufficient and seemed friendly, and to me, that's the main part. All of them were friendly, except this one lady, but I guess she was just having a bad day or something. Everybody else seemed to be nice and doing what they were supposed to be doing. It's a nice facility, but I wouldn't want to live there, because it's just not my cup of tea. I'm more of a country girl, and to me, that place doesn't have the country feel to it. The cleanliness was wonderful, though. I couldn't see anything wrong, and when I go somewhere like that, I look for dirt."
