My father is at Advena Living of Clearwater. There's only about 16 residents. They put the memory care people and the regular care people together, so it's not an ideal situation for my father. Even though he's 86 years old, he is sharp as a tack mentally, and so it's kind of a drag that half the people there are in some type of memory care degree. And there's not a lot of activities going on, and he is not really happy with the food, so he just doesn't get a lot out of the facility. The facility is nice. It seems a little short staffed, but they only have 16 residents. Sometimes the dietary staff don't show up, and so the nurses try to cook meals. It just seems very chaotic at times. Everybody is dealing with this employment market that we are in, and so I try not to give them too hard of a time about it. They do the best they can.

I have a relative at Clearwater. The place is very clean, affordable, and very careful in monitoring their patients to prevent any falls or seeing if they are not moving or getting around. They bring the patients to the dining room three times a day. They also take them on trips.

My mother in law lived here the last few years of her life. They always took good care of her and tended to all of her needs and requests.

The facilities are great but the staff have a tendency to pay more attention to their cell phones instead of the residents. The Alzheimer's unit was severely understaffed and was in chaos in the evening. It is a great place if residents need very little assistance but if they are there because they need a bit more I would not recommend this assisted living home.
