My wife moved into Meadowview Memory Care. What I liked best was the help and the people. They're very well trained, and they do not have any attitude. The staff is great. I've been to other places where they had peanut butter and sandwiches for supper, which isn't quite like that. The facility is very clean and modern. They have internet and cable TV. So, it's very nice. They play bingo, they have pets come in, they have music, and different people come in and sing. They make strawberry shortcakes, and they're cooking. They do little things like that.

Memory garden (outdoor area) is unkept. There has been no upkeep since the former maintenance person retired in 2024. Staff overturn is high. A LOT of temp people that are unfamiliar with your loved ones, are filling in. Poor management and very little follow through with care plans due to understaffing, high overturn and lack of individual training. If you don't have time to keep a close watch on your loved ones, this place is not for you. Activities are not a priority. Don't count on your loved ones having a schedule of consistent activities. Upper management is lacking. They make excuses for their problems versus finding solutions for the problems. The kitchen manager is very accommodating. The head nurse does what she can, but has her hands full. Her assistant is not helpful or understanding. There is a handful of staff (aids) that are really good but they typically end up leaving. Do not use the in-house doctor. There is no hydration program for loved ones and there is no strategic diet plans to help slow the progression of dementia or alzheimers.

MeadowView Memory Care is awesome, especially for people with dementia. It's set up so that the residents have a place to walk around, a lot of visual things for them to look at, and be able to just spend time outside of their rooms. The staff is great. They've been superb with coordinating everywhere when my husband moved there and getting him acclimated to the new environment. It's a wonderful place and we're very fortunate that we found it. The room is big enough for an individual and there's a nice-sized bathroom and shower. Everything is well-kept and managed. It has very good decor, and the walls and carpet are updated. They try to encourage the residents to get out of their rooms to mingle with other residents and staff. The food looks very good and they provide snacks, too.

We toured The Views Senior Living of Cedar Rapids. I like that it is all on one floor. It was small. It was very clean, and it did not smell. I have nothing bad to say about it at all. The staff who toured me around was very helpful and gave me a lot of information. She was not pushy. They have a salon, and they have entertainment for the residents pretty much each day; it was nice. The one thing that they don't provide that I didn't like is they have no Wi-Fi or cable.
