"We picked this facility. It’s for my sister-in-law. She has not moved in yet. We’re waiting this week to sign the papers. It’s close to me. They have everything that you can possibly want. The only prooblem is they don’t have is a swimming pool. I’d seen the menus which are unbelievable. They provide breakfast and/or lunch or dinner. It’s excellent."

"We toured Thrive at Montvale. We liked the amenities, and we liked the fact that it was very new and very fresh. It was very nice. The staff was great, and we enjoyed the tour. We liked their meal plan and the size of the facility. It was not too big and not too small. We liked the fact that they could move from independent to assisted living if they needed to. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly, and they wanted to get to know my parents, which was good. The cleanliness was great. We liked the courtyard quite a bit. They had a garden room and a giant LEGO area for families to play in, and they had water features, but the units were a little bit on the small side. The atmosphere was vibrant, and we liked the setup, the layout, and the spaces."

"Villas of Holmdel was a new facility. It was well organized and it had a separate wing for memory care. They had resources 24 x 7 if the residents should have an issue. The place was safe. The menus were appropriate for their residents. The staff was knowledgeable and willing to help."

"I love RiverWalk Senior Apartments, but they are Jewish. It's on the grounds of the Hebrew Home. I liked the atmosphere there, and you have your own washer and dryer in the apartment. They have a pool on the premises. All I had there was a cup of coffee. I didn't have any food, but the food was kosher. If you're Jewish, that's fine. They have amenities. They have painting. They have a real painter who comes and teaches there. They have quite a few activities. They put out a newsletter every month. They have concerts there."

"The facilities at Castle Senior Living at Forest Hills were nice. They can deal with walkers, but wheelchair-bound would be a problem. It was overall attractive. They offer three meals a day and had TV lounges, places for social gatherings, and a little cafe where they can get snacks and beverages. The staff was very nice and very informative. It was very immaculate."

"My father had lived there and he was treated very well. It's a very neat and a very attractive place. The staff there are friendly, accommodating, and caring. My father had already passed away, but when his health was declining, the place provided each and every service they can give him. I was pleased with him being there. They gave him excellent service. "I went to Lantern Hill. It's gorgeous, their apartments are just beautiful. They don't have a studio, they're very expensive, but they are really beautiful. The staff took me on a tour of the independent living, and if I'm not mistaken, it was a two-bedroom apartment. They have gyms, they have everything you need. The staff was so nice. You could eat off the floors there. They have a beautiful dining room."

"My dad moved into The Society House. We chose it for the freedom of not being such a normal assisted living place. It's more of an open concept. It's not locked down. It's more like a social setting, more than a home. They have home-cooked meals three times a day. They have game night, movie nights, and socially interactive stuff. You could choose to participate or you could do your own thing and watch TV or walk around. You could make your own food if you want to."

"It was a very pleasant visit. We saw some community that was not large and very attractive, but I haven't had the chance to look at the floor plans. The staff were very pleasant and very nice. It was a good experience, although they did a lot of talking and not much listening to our questions. They were very friendly and anxious to make a good impression. Crane's Mill was closer to where my daughter lives, which would be an advantage. "

"Village Apartments is run by The Jewish Federation and it's very nice. They have buses that go to Shoprite, movies, and things like that. I think it's a diverse community, too. The staff seemed to be very helpful and nice. The apartment was very nice as well. They have a large community room, they offer meals, and they have people that come in to talk. They also have an exercise area with equipment, so that people can do therapy. Their location is very good. It's right in the middle of South Orange. So, you just walk a block to the libraries and another block have all sorts of stores."
