"I would give Sunrise at Canyon Crest a five in all respects. I went to a unit where there were people, and I saw what their routine was like. I saw more than one room, and I got plenty of information about the routine, so it was good in all respects. You had your choice of apartment. They had private and shared. They showed me the menu and the dining area, and they showed me clients, so it was all quite favorable. They keep the place very small. They don't want to make it institutional."

They're having music, they were watching TV, and they were playing games with them. The rooms themselves were nice size. They have a whole lot of activities that they do with the residents. "Citiview Residential Care is just a six-bed home. It is located in a nice area of Riverside. It's got a well manicured lawn, and the place looks nice. It sits on an acre lot, so it's a pretty big piece of ground that they have. They have two caregivers in the day and two caregivers at night, and one lady that stays there and lives there. So, that's a pretty good ratio for six people. They take everybody out in the backyard once a day, and they cater to their individual meals. It's cozy and more like a home. They have a shared room but you don't have to bring your own furniture because they provide that for you. I would probably put my mom here because it seems to be a really nice place. The landscaping is really nice, but the carpet was kind of stained, and the bathroom rugs need to be replaced."

"We toured A Silver Amore Senior Home. What I liked best was that it was very spacious. It was a relatively modern home. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the residents seemed happy. I liked that it was all female, so my mother would be comfortable with just all women about the same age. They had two rooms that were private rooms and the others were shared rooms. But even in the shared rooms, they had a nice partition, like a hospital, and the partition was up from the ceiling, so you would have your privacy there. And everybody seemed to be happy there, so that's what we liked. I only saw the woman who ran it, a registered nurse, and that was a plus, and then there was another woman there doing the cooking. The structure was very well maintained. The layout was very nice. It was like one grand room; the kitchen, the dining area, the den, and the family room were all in one space. It was very nice, so it would be easy to move back and forth, and a separate room where families could visit more individually. If they came to visit, they could sit on the couch, and there was a little dining table there, too. You can have food or something like that. So, that part was very nice, too."

"Westmont of Riverside was a very nice, very friendly, well-maintained facility, and that would be a possibility when we're ready. We went to the big multistory building, not the individual homes. It had beautiful grounds. It was a very attractive building. Everybody was very, very nice. In the dining room, there might have been 35 or 40 people getting a mid-morning snack or something, waiting for perhaps the lunch to begin. Everybody was very, very courteous and accommodating. Robin took quite a bit of time to explain everything and do the tour. We saw the two-bedroom unit and the one-bedroom unit and they're very attractive and very lovable. The staff was very nice, very friendly, and accommodating. We had a cup of coffee and a glass of water. We saw the dining room and the menu. She explained how the menus work, and the different choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It was great. They had a big covered pool, an exercise room, and a woodshop. They do various activities. They have bus service several times a week to doctor's offices, to a local grocery store, or to local shopping. They show a movie. They have large screen TVs on various walls in the facility, which tell what's going on in there. It keeps everybody up-to-date. We saw the calendar for December showing what they were doing all month long on a daily basis, which was nice because then you could choose what you wanted to do or just go down and sit in the chair and enjoy the sunshine. It's very, very nice. I was very impressed. There were lots of grassy areas and big trees. There was hardly any traffic on the various streets and roads that we drove. We drove through quite a bit of the complex just to see what was there. There were lots of walking paths. They have a dog park because when we do go to a senior living facility, we plan to take our dog and our cat."

"My in-laws are in Brookdale Loma Linda. They have been very attentive to their needs. They like the food very much. Their living quarters are in a two-bedroom assisted living, which is not a very common thing in assisted living, I've discovered. I'm very thankful for the fact that they do have that option. They have been proactive with their healthcare. They have been working with them to get set up well with having changed facilities and such. It seems to be working very, very well for them. I'm very thankful for that. Everybody was very positive and very intentional in their interactions with people who are living there, and they're helpful. I didn't meet anybody who wasn't very caring. It is very clean. When they moved in, it was in very good order. It was neat, and everything was in good shape. It was very inviting and very welcoming. Compared to where they were before, I feel they weren't getting nearly as much value for almost twice as much money."

"This place was an absolute Godsend! They are caring for my mother with dementia due to Alzheimer's. It's a beautiful, clean home. The staff is amazing, from top to bottom. "Mission Commons was beautiful. I love it. The rooms are just the right size. The room that was currently available ahead of you is out towards the dumpsters. So I didn't think that was nice, but it wasn't bad. They said they're not always there. The facility was very clean. It smelled clean, not like freshly cleaned, but just naturally clean. The few employees that I got to see were always smiling, so that was nice. The atmosphere was homey and welcoming. The decor wasn't so modern that I felt out of place and it wasn't so traditional either. It was comfortable."

"It has a community that is friendly, alive, living, full of life, very pleasant, and comfortable. They were a little more than adequate. It's an older place, but it's welcoming. Everyone that we've met was very pleasant and very friendly. It's a larger place than we had expected, but it was clean. It wouldn't get boring because it's larger. The dining area was very nice, very pleasant, and very inviting. They had parking, balconies, and an outdoor area, like a community place. They have karaoke. They have family get togethers. They have dancing and live music. We were actually greeted by people who lived there and said this is a great place to live (which no other place we went to did that)."

"They offered numerous amenities for Alzheimer's patients. All of the amenities were fair. Also, they did offer some solutions on helping me tell my mother that this is where you're going. You can put them in there for a day or two at a time like test residents -- which I thought was good -- so that was their biggest aspect as far as I'm concerned. Somerford Place of Redlands was well done and very well gated, so that residents can't get out or go hurt themselves. The rooms were nice, but they're really not going to be compatible for adults that have very large homes. However, the staff was great. They were really great. With the lady that took me around and all the people that I interacted with -- e.g., some staff people that were trying to care for some Alzheimer's patients -- I was very pleased with what I saw. "

"My father has been in Brookdale Corona for a week now. The overall experience is good. His room is kind of small. The place is very clean and well maintained. I've dealt with four or five different staff members, and my overall experience with them is fair to good. It's clean and it has an outdoor area. He loves being outside so he can be there safely. The outdoor space is green and well-landscaped."
