"Sunrise at Canyon Crest was very pleasant. The rooms were very nice. They have a cottage style where there are a few rooms around the central dining room. That was a very, very nice arrangement. They have a lot of activities that occur, not necessarily daily, but they have activities where they get the residents together to do crafts and they have a bus where they take them out to go on a drive or some of the people, if they want to get out, they go to a shopping center. We had food there and it was good. There was a menu and you could choose. The facility was excellent"

"The Gardens of Riverside felt like my house. It felt very familiar. I'd never been there before, but when I walked in, I felt something familiar. The atmosphere was like what I'm accustomed to, something I grew up in. The staff was very upfront. They weren't shy. Their choice of words, they didn't talk above me or below me. They spoke to me to give me information. They do have a salon, and they have a van that take the residents to different places of interest. They had a little pet farm with goats, a pig, and birds. I'm kind of gearing toward this place."

"We're very happy with Citiview Residential Care. It's a 100% match of what my dad would like. They are staffed sufficiently, and all of them are very attentive and professional. We looked at the menu, and I think it suits the clientele. It's a big property with gardens, a big patio, a big front, and a driveway with trees and sitting areas."

"We toured A Silver Amore Senior Home. What I liked best was that it was very spacious. It was a relatively modern home. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the residents seemed happy. I liked that it was all female, so my mother would be comfortable with just all women about the same age. They had two rooms that were private rooms and the others were shared rooms. But even in the shared rooms, they had a nice partition, like a hospital, and the partition was up from the ceiling, so you would have your privacy there. And everybody seemed to be happy there, so that's what we liked. I only saw the woman who ran it, a registered nurse, and that was a plus, and then there was another woman there doing the cooking. The structure was very well maintained. The layout was very nice. It was like one grand room; the kitchen, the dining area, the den, and the family room were all in one space. It was very nice, so it would be easy to move back and forth, and a separate room where families could visit more individually. If they came to visit, they could sit on the couch, and there was a little dining table there, too. You can have food or something like that. So, that part was very nice, too."

"I liked Westmont of Riverside a lot, but it was very huge for my sister. She probably would be better off with a smaller facility. I saw a cafeteria. I saw two studios. I saw their entrance, and basically we walked from the entrance to a wing, which was a good distance. They're set up to where people are a good distance from administration, which I wasn't really happy with. If my sister were to be there and she needed administrative business to be conducted, it would be very difficult for her to get there. It was quite clean. There seemed to be the occasional attendant in each wing, but I didn't see a lot of people milling about. It was nice to see that it was not too crowded, but on the same token it was also disconcerting that people were so far apart from help. The staff member was conscientious, and I connected well with them. She was quite friendly with the help, and courteous with the clients. I would still give them a very high score because they are a premium facility. They are selective in their clientele. They explained that people needing more than one person in attendance were not good applicants. My sister is not a good applicant, not that she needed more than one attendant at a time, but because she needed an attendant to get her up. That would mean someone would have to be with her, and that's not something that they're geared to do."

"We checked the assisted living facility of Brookdale Loma Linda for my dad, and he will be moving there. When they took us around, they explained quite a bit. They showed us where certain areas were and what they offered. They were pretty friendly. The room that we found for my dad is the right size for him. The other ones we saw were pretty roomy. I noticed that the place was pretty clean and well-kept. The dining area was also pretty clean. When I went through there, everybody was sitting down and eating. The only thing I didn't like was that there was no parking on one side of the street. You either have to park across the street or drop the person off, and then you have to find a parking spot inside their facility."

"Gracious Care #2 was a nice location. I just didn't think my mom would have been a good fit there. A lot of people didn't speak a lot. They were older and the person who took care of the house was primarily a Spanish speaker and my mom speaks English. That's the only spot that we found that would help with her insulin. The house and everything looked good. The rooms looked clean. The shower looked clean. Everything looked clean. They said they shower them every other day. It was at the top tier of my price range. The dining area looked good. We walked through all the rooms. The gentleman seemed very nice. However, I was talking to a lady on FaceTime and she was relaying everything because the gentleman didn't speak any English. We were going through every room and she would say this room costs this much or whatever. This is the dining room, this is the bathroom, this is another bathroom, this is the backyard, this is the kitchen, we make three meals a day for them. She had a lot of information on how they eat and how they run their facility. She was very informative. I guess the owner speaks English, but the guy who overlooks and takes care of the patients is primarily a Spanish speaker."

"I toured Mission Commons. The lady there was very helpful with everything. It's a really nice place. The grounds are nice. They have a backyard where you can walk your loved ones around. They have activities. You can have your hair down there. I mean, it just offers a lot for the people who are there. The one I saw was like a studio. It was nice and roomy. They had a little kitchen, a refrigerator, and a closet area. The upkeep was very nice. The grass was mowed. Everything was clean. I would recommend the place. They have a gym and a hair salon there. They have a little area where you can play, like do puzzles, and it's for people who want to sit there or chat. Also, they're pet-friendly."

"I visited.It's an assisted living place and overall it was fine for me especially because they had an enclosed little dog park. The place was beautiful. The person who assisted me during the tour was wonderful. He was very good with follow-through and was very personable. I also observed that they have a very friendly staff."

"My mom will move into Brookdale Corona. We chose it because when we walked in, it was clean, light, and airy, and I noticed that all of the residents were lively, even those who were wheelchair-bound. The person who took us around was amazing. She was knowledgeable. She shared her journey, beginning with working there. I think she started working there when she was a teenager and was promoted. She loved the facility and the people there. She was very informative. I haven't tasted the food, but I smelled it, and I know if the taste is anything like the smell. She said they had good food, and another family friend of ours, their grandmother, was there, and they said the food was good."

"My girlfriend was staying at the Villas at San Bernardino. They took very good care of her. They were always thoughtful and considerate of her and of whatever needs that we had. I am grateful and her family to the Villas. I'm very pleased with their service. They took care of her up until the end. They made sure that whatever needs that she had, they would notify me. She just loved being there. That's all that you can ask for as an assisted living. The people there that they hired that serviced her, when I saw them, they did it with a smile. They would always share something about her. It just made a difference how people treat one another and their caring and thoughtfulness of her. If she wasn't feeling well, they would call the family immediately. We always knew what was going on. They have bingo, art activities, singing and dancing, and Bible study. If they want to get their hair done, they have a beautician right there. They play games. They watch television. They have a whole lot of activities going. Every month, they're doing some kind of party or something. I was very impressed with their service. I just hope that people going into the Villas get the care and service that I got and she got from there. The director was always hands-on."

"My aunt will move into Cadence at Rancho Cucamonga. The people were very nice. The activities - there's something to do every day. The fact that she can order her food and either go to the cafe or have it delivered to her room was great. That was awesome. It's very, very clean. They come into the laundry once a week. They deliver the food. They help you out with her medication, making sure she's taking it every day, and they will walk with her if she wants company while walking. The food was delicious and made to order. The staff was great. She was amazing. She constantly asked my aunt, "How are you feeling? What do you think?" She was really concerned about how she felt about it and how she felt okay with it."
