What we like best about Riverstone Terrace is that it's a smaller community. I don't know what I like least about it, though. They were kind of right up there with the other place. We were not able to taste the food, but we were able to see and smell it, and it smelled wonderful. They are located in a very nice area. They've done a little revamping. Because they have a higher nurse-to-resident staffing, they can accommodate my father-in-law, who needs a little more care than assisted living but is not quite ready for memory care yet. So that was a big plus for us.

I toured the memory care of Riverstone Terrace for my dad. I like the environment, how the staff is professional, the services that are offered, the activities, and the cleanliness of the facility. The person who gave me the tour was the director, I believe. She gave me a lot of information and resources that I can reach out to if I want more information. She was very professional and very polite. She gave me the tour and showed me everything that is offered. She also reassured me that this place will be my dad's home, so we could call him and go as we please. The rooms look very inviting, very comfortable, and clean. The director said we can either take our own furniture or they will furnish it for us. My dad can also either share a room or have a private room.

We toured and the staff was wonderful. They were all very nice. It seemed clean. The people there are pretty happy and it was nicely appointed. They showed us some menus. They have music and they have chair exercises. They have a general receiving area. They have a nice dining room and a couple of seating areas. They have a courtyard. The rooms were nice. The bigger ones were fine but the average ones were on the small side. They have a microwave and a small refrigerator.

It took a little bit of time for my dad to adjust but just the other day he told me it feels good to be able to come home to his little apartment. He loves the staff and they treat him with kindness.

My wife has been in memory care at Pacifica Senior Living Bakersfield for approximately three months now. Initially, we met with the staff at Pacifica. I want to see the facility and just in general get a general idea of what it's like. After meeting with the staff, they were very competent and very open. It's a really, really nice facility and very clean. When I was there meeting with them, they were having a group deal in the memory unit with people participating. I was very impressed with all that. I've had no dissatisfaction with the staff at all. They all seem to be very responsive and they seem to care about my wife and take good care of her when I go visit. She's always dressed well, her hair's done, she seems to be very well taken care of, and she's put on a few pounds, which I couldn't get her to do here at the house. She's in a room with another lady, but the other lady seems fine and it's a nice room. There's plenty of room. So far, I'm very satisfied with them. She's only been there three months at this time, so all I can do is go by what I've seen and the interaction I've had with the staff and how my wife seems to be taken care of. They're always very responsive. With the COVID, we went through the first six weeks where I was having to meet with my wife outside because of the COVID restrictions. Thankfully, that's over because this is Bakersfield and it's so hot outside, but that's not their fault, that was Covid. I'm very satisfied with the staff at this point. I have not been there when she's having meals. All I can go by is the fact that she has put on a few pounds. She must like what they're feeding her. Otherwise, it wouldn't be going that way. My expectation is that the food is fine, but I can't actually say with the COVID restrictions and all that, I haven't been in there when they were eating. I think it's probably fine because she's put on the weight. I haven't seen what they're feeding her. They seem to have regular activities. As far as I can tell, the activities are fine. They have people that get them involved in activities and they seem to want them involved as much as possible. I think that's probably very good. She looks nicer now than she did when she was living here at home. It was terrible trying to get her to bathe. I force her to bathe every once in a while, but she didn't want to. That's the sad thing about Alzheimer's, my wife was always one of those really clean people and then with the Alzheimer's, that got to the point where she simply didn't want to bathe and she would be angry the entire time I was making her bathe. It seems to be working fine there because whenever I come to visit, she's clean, her appearance is good, and her hair is done. I think she's being well cared for in terms of hygiene.
Greatlyappreciated

We moved our grandma in about a month ago and she loves it! We could not be happier with the level of care shown to our grandma. Staff is kind and the food is great. Grandma is happy and so are we.

It was beautiful. My aunt and I went there to observe and the staff was very nice. They had a dining room and they brought cookies and coffee. The rooms were very nice. They had activities like bingo, lessons and someone played the piano. The reason why I didn't choose them was because they didn't have after memory care. They had a memory care but it was in a separate building.

My mom is in here. We're happy with it. We looked all over and that's the one that we like best. We just like the way they diagnosed my mom and just the way they were, the people in general. For us, this place was a better fit for my mom. It is just a nice facility. She has been there since September. The staff is wonderful. Overall, they're exactly what we needed and they're doing a wonderful job. We have no complaints about them whatsoever.
