"I had a friend who was at Rosewood Assisted Living. It's a really nice place. I've had more experience with Rosewood than I have had with any of the other ones. The facility was well done and well constructed. The rooms were very nice. I don't recall which room I saw because it was not a tour. As for my visitation with the people who live there, they were well pleased with the facility, and they had a lot of good, positive things to say about the care they received. The comments would be basically positive. I really like Rosewood. I think it would be a good place. Everything was top rate as far as food, amenities, activities, and social structure goes. Those kinds of things were very good."

"My son is staying in Maison De Lafayette for long-term care. When he was first admitted, he had someone else in the room with him but they found a private room, a single-person room, and they moved him in that. It's a nice room and it's homely. The place is outstanding, it's very clean. It is a huge facility but his room is always very well maintained as well as the surrounding areas. I'm very lucky to be able to put him there. I'm also very well satisfied with the treatment that my son has received as well as the facility and their employees."

"My brother-in-law is in assisted living at Garden View Assisted Living - Lafayette, and my sister is going to be in memory care until she gets acclimated to the transition. My brother-in-law is in a very nice two-bedroom apartment. Both rooms have large walk-in closets and very good-sized bathrooms, one with a roll-in shower and the other one with a tub shower with a nice wooden seat. They have the typical little kitchen area with a sink, a microwave, and a full-size refrigerator, and a generous storage space. It accommodates a little table and chairs where they can sit and have a cup of coffee. They have a television hookup and they provide a telephone service in the apartment. They have blinds on all the windows and they have ceiling fans. The space in the memory care section is separate and it's secured. My sister has a nice size room. It's kind of an L-shape with the same size bathroom with a roll-in shower. There's additional storage in the bathrooms for sheets and so forth. There's a nice size vanity in that bathroom. The memory care does not have a kitchen facility in it, but it opens into a hallway that is very close to a common area that had a television. It's close to the dining area and kitchen area that they had set up specifically for them and her husband can come there and have meals with her. They can sit and watch TV and do activities together if they choose. There's a second larger television viewing area with really nice chairs. There's a little courtyard, but they don't go outside without somebody with them from memory care. In the assisted living part, they could go out without somebody being with them. The food there is extraordinary. My brother-in-law is on the second floor, but they have an elevator and he just walks through the lobby and he can go in and spend time with my sister back there in the memory care. It is in the same building. They have gone beyond what I expected to help us get them moved in. They let us ship things there in advance. They've done everything they could to accommodate me because it was difficult with me being in Dallas and the facility being there. Something is going on there all the time. The residents are just as calm, peaceful, and happy as they could be. I even heard a resident talking to their director. The director listened and I heard her say to him, "You know, that's great input, and we're gonna take your advisement to see what we can do." I am very pleased and the employees have been there ten or twelve years. The cook has been there for eight years. The receptionist and the program directors for assisted living and memory care have all been very available. I haven't had any negative thought or comment about the assisted living group. The facility was very well done. I don't have any issues with it. The cleanliness was extraordinary. Furniture, nothing was shabby. They're not inexpensive, but I think we're getting our money's worth."

"My grandmother needed some therapy after her hip surgery and we had the best expericence. Staff was very frendly and took such good care of my grandmother. I would highly recommend this facility. "

"I visited The Blake at Lafayette. I really liked that there were a lot of different things to do. It's a nice facility. The staff seems very caring and concerned. The only thing I didn't like was the price. It's out of my price range. The rooms were nice and functional, home-like. The atmosphere seemed very, very relaxing, and very family-oriented. The dining area is adequate, large, and clean, and there is a gym area."

"We have chosen Woodbriar Southern Style Assisted Living and Memory Care for my aunt. She's on the waiting list. I like the location. It's a fairly new facility. The staff members were very knowledgeable and very informative. We left there having no questions. When you walk in the room, there's a little kitchenette where my aunt can actually set up a table and chairs, and that area is open with a good-sized living room, good-sized bedroom, good-sized closet, good-sized walk-in shower, and a vanity. All are very nice. We already did the deposit, and my aunt is up next. The dining area was very nice and a very good size. They have a bar in there where you can also get snacks and drinks throughout the day. It's a very nice facility. They have a walking path, and they have nice porches with rocking chairs on them. They have beauty shop where they can do their nails and their hair. They have a library with WiFi hookups. They offer cable TV. They do all type of activities. While we were there this week, someone was doing a reading of a Christmas story, and they have cookies and milk. They have a lot of local schools and stuff that come back and forth and do activities with the people. It's just everything my aunt wanted. The atmosphere was very cheerful. Everyone was very polite as far as the staff goes. The residents were welcoming. They wanted to visit with you. It's very nice."

"My mom is a resident at River Oaks Retirement Manor. I'm very impressed with it. It is an older place, but it is very well maintained and well cared for. I'm also impressed with the staff. They are superb. From the staff who cleans the room, the people who do the therapy, the nurses to CNAs, they are all very diligent and appear to be devoted. I have yet to encounter anyone who has not been fully up to the task. The food is definitely a plus. My mom has gone from pureed diet back to solid diet within the last week or so, but with the two or three meals I had eaten with her, I was very impressed with the food. For activities, they'll have group therapy where they throw a ball around and some bingo. Mother's Day was very nicely done with live entertainment."

"Beautiful community! We felt like part of the family as soon as we walked in. After touring several assisted living communities, none of them compared to Garden View. It's the best!"

"Eastridge Senior is in excellent condition and has excellent staff. I'm very glad I was able to get my mom in there quickly, as her health has improved since. She has a single apartment with one bathroom and one bedroom. It's a very nice place. She likes the food. Her appetite has improved, and she's eating three times a day."

"I really struggled with the decision to let others care for my Mom. After several months of doing it alone I was exhausted beyond anything I had ever experienced. A cousin came over while I toured Plein de Vie and the minute I walked in, I knew I was in the right place. It’s a BEAUTIFUL HOME - nothing institutional about it. Clean. Delicious meals. The staff truly cared and treated my Mom with love and respect. The families of the other residents were all supportive and friendly. Although my mom has passed away, the staff at PdV quickly became extended family and keep in touch. I can’t say enough about how truly special our experience with Plein de Vie was - don’t hesitate if you need help with a loved one. They’re not just care givers - they care. "

"I visited one of my relatives who lives at Courtyard Manor and I think it's a nice place to live. The room was nice, it has a kitchen, and so on. The staff members are really nice people. They have things to do, like they play bingo. If you're looking for a nice place to live, I would recommend this community because you're really taken care of."

"I toured Southwind Senior Living Suites and it was very nice. The rooms were very nice, it was very clean. It was more expensive but it was very nice. I saw a studio. I only met a couple of people. They were very nice, too, because they held the room for me, you know, for a day or so just till I made a decision, which I thought was nice, especially since it was after the hurricane and a lot of people were looking for places to stay. It was a little bit out of my friend's price range. Everything looked very clean. When you walked in, the main room looked very nice, it was decorated, the rooms were very clean. I think it was less than five years old. I didn't go out back. I know they have a little pond out front with some ducks in it, and they have a decent parking lot for families to park."
