My brother-in-law is in assisted living at Garden View Assisted Living - Lafayette, and my sister is going to be in memory care until she gets acclimated to the transition. My brother-in-law is in a very nice two-bedroom apartment. Both rooms have large walk-in closets and very good-sized bathrooms, one with a roll-in shower and the other one with a tub shower with a nice wooden seat. They have the typical little kitchen area with a sink, a microwave, and a full-size refrigerator, and a generous storage space. It accommodates a little table and chairs where they can sit and have a cup of coffee. They have a television hookup and they provide a telephone service in the apartment. They have blinds on all the windows and they have ceiling fans. The space in the memory care section is separate and it's secured. My sister has a nice size room. It's kind of an L-shape with the same size bathroom with a roll-in shower. There's additional storage in the bathrooms for sheets and so forth. There's a nice size vanity in that bathroom. The memory care does not have a kitchen facility in it, but it opens into a hallway that is very close to a common area that had a television. It's close to the dining area and kitchen area that they had set up specifically for them and her husband can come there and have meals with her. They can sit and watch TV and do activities together if they choose. There's a second larger television viewing area with really nice chairs. There's a little courtyard, but they don't go outside without somebody with them from memory care. In the assisted living part, they could go out without somebody being with them. The food there is extraordinary. My brother-in-law is on the second floor, but they have an elevator and he just walks through the lobby and he can go in and spend time with my sister back there in the memory care. It is in the same building. They have gone beyond what I expected to help us get them moved in. They let us ship things there in advance. They've done everything they could to accommodate me because it was difficult with me being in Dallas and the facility being there. Something is going on there all the time. The residents are just as calm, peaceful, and happy as they could be. I even heard a resident talking to their director. The director listened and I heard her say to him, "You know, that's great input, and we're gonna take your advisement to see what we can do." I am very pleased and the employees have been there ten or twelve years. The cook has been there for eight years. The receptionist and the program directors for assisted living and memory care have all been very available. I haven't had any negative thought or comment about the assisted living group. The facility was very well done. I don't have any issues with it. The cleanliness was extraordinary. Furniture, nothing was shabby. They're not inexpensive, but I think we're getting our money's worth.

I toured Garden View Assisted Living. We really liked it, we liked the way they had their memory care set up where there were eight rooms on each side, and they had it color coded for the Alzheimer's patients. It was very nice. It was spacious. The residents we encountered there all seemed happy, they were willing to talk with you, and visit with you. I think that's important because it shows they like where they are. The food looked and smelled delicious. The facility was very clean.

Garden View Assisted Living - Lafayette was very nice and clean, and the staff was friendly. There was a nice porte cochere where you wouldn't have to get wet getting out of the car. They had a really nice chapel. The staff provided us with coffee, and we had cookies that we brought after we had our tour. The lobby was very nice too.

Garden View (Greenspointe) was an older but nice facility. I liked it. The grounds were nice and neatly kept. The insides were nice and clean. The parking lot was well maintained. They have assisted living and nursing care. The rooms and apartments are nice.

I did go to Garden View. I liked the atmosphere. It was very clean and very homey, and the clients appeared to be happy. Sanitation was excellent, there seemed to be adequate staff, and they appeared driven -- which is good -- and they were very pleasant.

Everybody was very happy and upbeat at Garden View. We looked at a 2-bedroom apartment; it was kind of small, but it was OK. The food looked pretty good. We happened to be there at lunch time, and everybody seemed to be enjoying it. They do a lot of different things; they go on outings and games on certain days of the week. It’s a pretty well rounded operation.

Everything was certainly acceptable. The size of the rooms made a difference for my friend. The rooms are pretty clean and small.

The staff maintains a wonderful friendly atmosphere for your loved one, and the services provided keep a resident busy and feel inclusive within the community. The holidays are especially bright and friendly in this facility with a busy holiday schedule for the residents. The grounds are well kept and the facility building is kept clean. For those who need around the clock care, I have used the four out of five rating because while my family member was very satisfied with her room those people who require extra care can know that even one over looked error could be too many. The best thing about this facility is the community of residents and staff that make it such a great place to live during the twilight years. The various amenities were absolutely sufficent for our family members needs and happiness was never an issue.

Garden View is a beautiful place to call home for the elderly. It provides a peaceful atmosphere, fine dining, friendly staff, useful outings, fun activities, opportunities to make new friends, moderate independence, and nurse assistane. The building is beautifully decorated both inside and out. Family members and friends may pick up their loved one for an outing or trip. There are gazebos and patio furniture outside as a place to relax. There are also many invitations open for family members to come and share in a fun socials. However, the doors are a little heavy, which can be difficult for many of the elderly residents to open. Apart from this one minor negative quality, Garden View is a peaceful, relaxing, joyful, safe, and relatively independent place for elderly to live.
