"I visited Park Center. It was a well run facility, but just too big for me. The staff was extremely friendly. It was also clean and well kept. Like all the places that I have visited, they have very good activities and good food. Their interaction is great. It was just little bit harder to get around because it was so big; it was multilevel. You have to go downstairs to a basement to access any of the recreational activities, and the apartments were upstairs. There was just a lot of getting around, and my mom is 91, so she doesn?t get around the best. "

"I got a lot of positive reviews from community members and that was a big reason why I chose Newton Village for Mom. I also visited the facility and liked their updated rooms and apartments. I liked their meal plans and also their activity schedules, and they already had some accolades as far as accrediting some good things about their facility. I don't have anything bad to say about them. I'm pretty pleased with their services, whether it is nursing services, meal services, or care services like ADLs. They're good at contacting my mom's long-term healthcare insurance company to be able to coordinate with them so that she can receive benefits from them to be able to pay for some of the cost. So, it was a pretty good experience all the way around. There are certain days when she doesn't like the food, but she's pleased with the food for the most part. They do balloon ball, bingo, and lots of crafts. She always has a crafts setting on a table, which she enjoys. They have some classes where they do different movements and exercises. She's usually not involved in that, but I know that they have that. Sometimes they have outdoor activities, like they do a horse cart ride in the summer. I'm pretty pleased with what activities she's able to do and it's not too busy and not too slow. The staff is great. They've always been cooperative, very kind, and customer friendly. They seem to have a good program going. I like that they have a chaplain on staff full time. So she does services and they have Bible study during the week, and then a couple of services on Sundays. They've always been kind, and caring. They always ask them how everything is going and always make sure where my mom's at. Compared to some of the other ones, the facility seemed like they were updated and very clean. They have a constant cleaning program. They come in and clean and I've never seen anything close to dilapidated or dirty, so I'm impressed. Everything's expensive, but it was cheaper than the other facility and cleaner than the other facility that I compared it to."

"Barb Windsor Manor! Our dad has been a resident there for 11 years and it is home to him. He is currently receiving Hospice services and WM has been just wonderful helping set that up. We are so grateful for such a loving, caring staff. "

"The staff at the Mayflower are extremely friendly,helpful, and kind. The nurses who work at the Mayflower are very polite and made me feel very welcome during my visit. The Mayflower also has a very neat feature which I really enjoyed seeing which was the dining room. It was very fancy and well staffed. The staff all seemed to know the residents and actually took interest in them as people and there families. I would be very confident in choosing this facility for someone in my family. The rooms are very nice and the staff are so compassionate. I walked away from my visit with a feeling of happiness that most nursing homes/skilled facilities do not provide. The overall look of the facility was also very nice. They had an atrium, outside garden area, a church, and all sorts of amenities you don't typically see in this sort of facility. I would recommend this nursing home to anyone who was looking for one. "

"Pella Manor was very nice. The staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms were clean. I thought they had an exercise room and a workshop. They had renovated a nice area, and they were renovating some more. "

"Courtyard Estates at Hawthorne Crossing was lovely. The rooms were quite spacious compared to other places I had seen. Most of the staff seemed very friendly. It was all very nice. They had nice activities that they offer, and that would be very desirable. Our only reason for choosing the other one was proximity to my sister. "

"The staff at Fair Haven are very kind and friendly. I've gone to other nursing homes to visit other relatives where the staff seemed a little creepy. The staff at Fair Haven are easy to talk to, it doesn't feel weird at all. The staff there do their job very nicely, and quickly. It's important that the staff stay on schedule, and these guys do. The rooms are very nice, they have a bathroom, bedroom, and living room. Which all are very roomy and inviting to visitors. The rooms have chords coming from the ceiling. With that attribute added to the rooms, if there is a complication then the person living in the home can pull the chord. When the cord is pulled it signals that the person living in the room needs assistance. It's really only for emergencies though. Not only are they very good and comfortable for living, they are also very affordable. Some assisted living homes and nursing home can get very pricey. Fair Haven is still pricey just like all other assisted living places, but it's at a little better of a price. In my opinion this is a very good home to look further into. "

"Prairie Vista Village was very good and the staff was very good and helpful. They gave us information that we needed and answered all our questions. It's only a four-year-old building so everything is very well-kept, clean and nice. We chose the place because it's pleasing, appealing and it's what we needed and wanted. They have plenty of activities."

"Glenwood Place was a nice place, but you pay too much for it. The independent living was a long walk for the residents who get tired out very easily. The rooms were very nice. The maintenance guy was very friendly. The dining area was too congested and too small for the amount of residents they had. We saw both independent and assisted living. It's a very clean facility."

"The facility itself is very nice. It is an apartment complex offering various ranges of assisted living services. It is located directly next to a lake that residents can either visit or see from their window if they are on the correct side of the building. The staff is accommodating, but are very averse to any actions that might hinder "routine". There seems to be a rather extensive list of rules for the facility, which can be good or bad, depending upon your preference. The residents are very friendly for the most part and are quite courteous. They will hold doors and elevators for you, and engage in friendly conversation. There is very good parking services for residents, including and indoor parking garage. There is also a little shop in which residents can spend money to buy snacks and other assorted conveniences. In addition, there is a hair salon in the facility. All in all, I would recommend The Shores, but be aware that there are a number of rules and guidelines. "

"My grandmother stayed at this nursing home while recovering from shoulder surgery. This facility had assisted living and a nursing/rehabilitation wing. It was a great facility that offered shared and private rooms. The smell within was pleasant and was not the typical "nursing home" smell. My grandmother greatly enjoyed her stay here. She said that they had a lot of extracurricular activities available to the residents that included Wii Bowling and Baseball, Ice Cream Socials, Tea Parties and many more. She requested that if she ever needed to go back for an extended period of time she would want to go back! "

"I like Valley View Village very much. I'm looking for assisted living for both of my parents, and so I need a two-bedroom unit, but they don't have anything available. Nevertheless, the staff members were very knowledgeable. They gave us all the information we needed. They were able to show us the campus there and show us all their amenities. It was very nice. The cleanliness looked great. We didn't see anything that didn't look up to par. The apartments were fine. They didn't have what we needed, so we looked at a one-bedroom, which was fine. The only thing was that it was a little dated and a little worn, but that's okay. It's an older facility. The tour person did great. He had all the information we wanted and gave us a packet of information."

"The Gardens at Luther Park was a beautiful facility. It was open, bright, and sunny. The people were really nice. It had all the services that we needed on one campus. "
