My mother has family that works there at River Chase, so they're checking up on her, and it's good for her. She qualifies for their Medicare and Medicaid. They seem all nice and welcoming. She shares a room with another lady and they share a bathroom. They have good food. She has to maintain a certain diet because she is diabetic. It's not perfect, but it works out for her. She is able to be accommodated there with everything that she needs except for sometimes they don't have transportation and we have to send her money still because they're taking all of her Social Security.

The actual Nursing Home is what I am rating. The staff as far as I could see were doing their jobs efficiently and putting forth a good effort. The Nursing Home as a whole is rough though. Furniture out in the common area were disintegrating, the windows in the rooms are hazy from years of dirt and grime, the beds are so old they have to be cranked by hand to prop up the patients so they can sit up right, there's these barely alive fish in a huge tank full of spinach colored green water, the televisions look like they were all picked up from a yard sale or goodwill. Everything is old and falling apart and it just adds to this somber hopeless feeling. It's such a depressing place. I get nursing homes aren't exactly rainbows and sunshine but this was not an appropriate setup, how anyone could live in such a place and feel positive and uplifted on any day in such conditions can't be possible.
