My aunt has been in the facility. We toured the facility virtually, but we also took her there. Our experience has been very good. It was a very good tour, and they were very helpful. It has been nothing but good. We called her one day last week and she was playing bingo. We have not seen the room, but it seems OK. The facility is very neat and very clean. The staff is very nice and good to her. They've all been very nice to us. My aunt says the food is good. She gets out and walks around the patio area; she seems satisfied.

About Verde Valley in Cottonwood, Arizona
Austin House Assisted Living facility provides a continuum of care for individuals that require a traditional assisted living, low to moderate support for their mental health needs as well as a dementia memory care unit. With 3 separate units, Austin House is equipped to handle residents who need a secured setting for added safety and security to prevent wandering or elopement type behaviors. Psychiatric and Medical providers come to the facility on a weekly basis to manage and evaluate residents on a consistent basis. The staff is also supported by a Behavioral Health Clinical Director to provide individualized care plans and interventions and trainings specific to each resident.
The Sycamore Unit is designed for residents with a combination of dementia and a psychiatric diagnosis. Caregivers are trained in handling the behaviors and symptoms that accompany such diagnosis such as: wandering, pacing, refusing or combativeness with care, verbally abusive, or difficulty with redirection. The Gardens Unit is intended for residents with a psychiatric diagnosis that require a secured setting and added behavioral health care. These residents may present as elopement or AWOL risk, verbal abuse, make repetitive statements or behaviors, non-compliance with care and other moderate behaviors. The third unit is named Terrace which is the traditional assisted living unit for residents with no behaviors.

We visited here. It was a scheduled visit, but the lady who was supposed to take me around was not there, so somebody else helped me. They showed me one room with two women that was nice and cozy.
