"My Aunt and Uncle attended the Bainbridge Adult Day Health Care Center. They had a great time there and were looking forward to attend the 4 days a week they went there. My aunt passed away recently and we had to place my uncle in the Nursing Home. Which we did @ the Bainbridge Nursing Home upstairs. They helped us thru the whole process! Thank you Bainbridge for everything!!! I highly recommend this entity!!!! :-) "

"My grandfather was at Beth Abraham, and it was good. They treated my grandfather really nicely. There were times that he was a little bit impatient, but I guess that’s what happens to everybody when you don’t live in your own home. The staff was very nice. I don’t have any complaints with them. The place was very clean. There’s a smell once in a while when you pass by a room, but I guess it was the people who are really in a worse condition. But in my thoughts, everything was always OK. There was one person he just didn’t really like, but I can’t even remember her name. Other than that, everybody was nice. Some of the staff even came to his viewing. Even the people who were in there were very nice and polite. For the time that he was there, I would say that he was semi-comfortable. I can’t say completely comfortable because he wasn’t happy about being there anyway because he wanted to be at home. With him it was a delicate situation because of that. The place was very bright. In some rooms, and on certain floors, there was like three beds to a room. So a person with a wheelchair was a little bit hard to maneuver around. They also have these little suites that had one person. "

"My friend is staying in the Amsterdam Nursing Home. The facility is very caring. Their rehabilitation is very good because they're up every day. Their staff is very reliable. I didn't see anything that was off with them. They're very polite. If something goes wrong in the facility, they contact the patient's family, friends, or whoever is connected to them. The food is very good. They make sure it's connected with their health, like if you're diabetic or you have a problem, the food is arranged around that. The room is very neat. He's in a room by himself, but they have people there permanently, so it might be two in a room. The maintenance is very good. Every day, things are changed, beds are changed, and the room is cleaned. They have him up and do exercise in the morning. The nurse comes in to see him every day. He has sugar, so that's checked on periodically during the day, and so is his pressure. They also have entertainment there during the day. When you come into the facility, you have to check in, and when you leave, you check out."

"My cousin was a resident at the Split Rock Rehab facility in the Bronx, for close to two years, before we moved him closer to his children out of state (recently). During this entire time, we could not have been more pleased with their care, attention and devotion to him and to looking after his wellbeing. We participated in family meetings and they were always responsive and honored our wishes that we be contacted, pro-actively, even for what other families might consider "small issues/things." We will always be grateful for the time he spent at this facility. It's unfortunate that in some nursing homes, people aren't treated with enough dignity and respect. Every human being is somebody's loved one and all caregivers need to remember that. Thank you split rock healthcare!"

"Jewish Home Lifecare was more aggressive physically in having you do their exercises, and if you were sort of not that enthusiastic on a given day, they kind of came after you and said, "No, you must come down. This is for your benefit not mine." It was a little less personal. The people who were doing the rehab, I don't think worked directly for the Jewish Home. They were contractors that came on a regular basis. I think it was an 8-story building, and each floor was pretty much the same, the way they had the rooms added in that did not have private bathrooms. I know it didn't have private bathing facilities. The only way you could bathe was when one of the nurses would take a reservation for you at a certain day and time, and she would accompany you into a room that had a bathtub that you could walk into -- an old style bathtub. I think the Jewish home probably could use the lobby area where the visitors would come. That was sort of up-to-date, but the rest of the place was a little on the tired side although it was vast. It had a library, which essentially had Jewish theology books that you could check out and read. What my overall complaint for every place was the lack of having a daily major circulation newspaper. The food was just adequate. It was essentially the food was brought to your room. I was in a five-bed area, which was divided up with curtains between the beds. The food that I had was not kosher. I guess they had a kosher food area, and they do have rabbis that come in, but since they knew that I was not Jewish, it was not something that they had just kosher food. We did not have pork products that I can recall, but it was sort of non-sectarian. "

"I did my CNA externship at St. Vincent De Paul Residence, it's a very clean facility. The patients are well cared for. My instructor Azary Tamarov was great. He showed us around, gave great advice about the health care field, and was very hands on when teaching us CPR. My experience was great, thanks to everyone at the facility. I would definitely recommend St. Vincent De Paul to family, patients, students, or future employees. They are very friendly, family oriented, and welcoming. "

"Our tour experience at the Daughters Of Miriam Center was very good. It's a very nice facility and they seemed to be caring. They have physical therapy, a nice senior program including entertainment, and a weekly hairdresser. There was an area where you can go outdoors, but it was not like expansive grounds. There were nice rooms where families could meet. They were very accommodating when I was there and they answered all my questions and seemed sincere. It's an older building, but it was clean."

"Very nice daycare center with a lot of services and activities. The staff is great and the owner really cares about this place. To the person who only visited and said there was lot of sitting, ask to see their calendar. They have outings and shopping trips every day with a lot of people going out on Tuesdays and Thursdays. So if you went on a day when everyone has already left, then it might look to you like "there isn't much going on." Even then, there's classes, crafting, table tennis in the back, and the theater room. "
