Senior Helpers of Greater Puyallup Federal Way, WA

I have temporarily stopped using Senior Helpers of Greater Puyallup, Federal Way, WA because I'm getting better, but that doesn't mean I won't need them next week. I used them for several hours a day before, and it was wonderful. I can't imagine going anywhere else the next time that I need help. It was really great. The staff was really nice and knowledgeable. They were really dedicated. I've never had housekeeping before, but I made up the guest bed and everything so that she could sleep right next to my bedroom in case I needed her during the night, but she never touched it because she stayed up all night, Bless her heart' I told her, "I got your bed ready," and she said, "Oh no we don't sleep." I only needed her once, and she was right there. I had a couple of people, and some worked the night shift, and some worked the day shift. Both daytime and nighttime were just wonderful. I didn't need injections or anything. However, if I had passed out, I needed assistance. I also needed assistance getting to the bathroom because I could not move my legs. I think they arranged snacks for me, and then my daughter provided dinner when she got home from work, as I recall. Anyway, anything that needed to be done, they did it. My family did not want me to be left alone, and so the big thing was that there was always somebody here who could take care of me, call 911, or whatever needed to be done. So that gave them a lot of peace of mind. Nowadays, all God's children have to work, and they can't just stay home and take care of mom. It was a hard decision. My daughter interviewed several people, and she liked this one the best, and she was right.

We have Senior Helpers of Greater Puyallup for six months now. They are helping mom with general household chores and bathing. We have different caregivers. We don't get the same person every time, which would be a criticism, and we've had a couple of times where nobody showed up and nobody told us that nobody was showing up. So, we had to call and know what was going on. That's not ideal, but my mom's been happy with the help and they have done a pretty good job. Mom is on a pretty fixed income, so the price is reasonable enough and it's worthwhile to have some caregiving. They just need to make sure that somebody's going to show up and if somebody is not going to show up, they call us and let us know that they are not showing up, because sometimes we're relying on them to do something so we don't have to do it. If they can't do it, then we can go do it.
