My mother just recently passed on April 26, 2022. At the very beginning we were very blessed to have Regina and Rena; they were both FANTASTIC, but both retired so I became very concerned; however, Mother still continued to receive TOTAL EXCELLENT CARE!! Cannot imagine where we would have been without Brandon her nurse; WOW, Brandon was always available and patiently listened to my concerns during his weekly visits, and/or (when needed) on the phone. Brandon made sure my questions were completely answered and he followed up throughout the week when changing meds etc, and he always left mother with a smile. Then there is Kristen, whom not only gave mother a wonderful long lasting massage, also showed her lots of love and attention. “You have beautiful blue eyes Ms Vivian” and “I love your pretty pink fingernails.” Mother always set up straighter and looked a little brighter after Kristen made her visit. ❤️ Then sweet Clara; where would we have been without her!?! PRECIOUS LADY, and my bed bath teacher, she was so gentle and good to mama, and gave her a bath fit for a queen!! Now there’s Chaplain Seth, in one word AMAZING!! If he were to resign as Chaplain and start a church, I would be first in on the front row!! Mother adored him too, and she loved looking in Chaplain Seth eyes (also Brandon’s) and her heart would melt. 🥰 When the Chaplain prayed for us, I knew God was in the room. 🛐 And oh my, he did an amazing sermon at mothers funeral, and everyone there instantly loved/loves Chaplain Seth!!! Cannot leave out Michelle; our Social Worker; always available, anytime night and day if we needed her; I knew she was one phone call away. Vanessa, she was only here throughout the last weekend of mothers life, but she gave me a WEALTH of information that I so desperately needed in order to know what to do next; knowing mother had made a huge dip in decline overnight was scary; Vanessa you were so loving and patient with me, and you explained everything in a way I could understand. I will never forget you!! Tiffany, thank you for helping me get through a very tough night with mother, and for being here with opened arms when mother took her last breath. This entire staff takes their career seriously, and obviously not just a job to them; clearly their passion. Nurse Practitioners and Drs are fantastic too!! Due to their extra care, I believe mother lived nine months longer than expected!! The entire staff is AMAZING!!! Lastly, Cannot leave out my daughter in-law for encouraging me to choose Carilion Hospice; if not for Tasha, I would have chosen another facility. We LOVE YOU ALL and will always be forever grateful ♥️♥️♥️

I definitely recommend hospice care through Carilion Hospice Services-Roanoke. They were there every time I needed them. They were very prompt, very helpful, very nice, and very concerned, not just for my husband, but for me and for my family. They gave him medicine, oxygen, provided help with his catheters, getting him turned, and also bathing him. I could call them any time and somebody was always there ready to help. Value-wise, that was wonderful.

I would not recommend this company. Service is terrible. Waited 2 days for pain meds for my dad. Had to ask 3 times for a social worker to call me it took 2 weeks to get a call. The nurse forgets to bring what he needs. The company providing equipment does not bring correct bed/ wheel chair. Takes days to get the correct stuff. I would never ever use Carilion Hospice again.

Carilion Hospital uses the principles and the original purpose behind the idea of hospice to hide its ultimate goal - making money for the powerful in a large company. The people who visited us from Carilion were pleasant, but offered minimal assistance. Meaningful and needed assistance always came with an unaffordable price tag.
