Senior Helpers of East Dallas Rowlett

We are using Senior Helpers of East Dallas Rowlett for my husband. They do normal helping in the first few times, like taking a shower, and getting to the bathroom, because he was still trying to build his strength back up in his legs. They were encouraging him to do the exercises that the therapist had sent. He's got a mini elliptical, some resistance bands, and a little hand squeezer thing. They're trying to help and encourage him to do all those things and to do more for himself to be more independent. Then they do some cleaning-up stuff, like they make sure his bedroom sheets are changed, and his bathroom is wiped down. They also vacuum and mop. They don't do heavy house cleaning, but they do light housekeeping. This week, they went through all his old DVDs and VHS tapes with him and and organized them into categories. We're doing two days a week, four hours each. The caregiver comes from 12 to 4 so she's always asking if he needs her to make him lunch if he doesn't already have it. The very first lady that came turned out to be allergic to cats, so we've had this other lady now for the rest of the time. Also, if we have a doctor's appointment during the times that they're here, they help us with transport if we need it. My husband is on a walker now, so we don't need it, but when he was in the wheelchair, we did need help.
