The nice thing about ComForCare Home Care - Raleigh, NC, is that you only have to use as much as you need. You don't contract for a lot. We were probably a customer for 10 years. At the beginning, it was once or twice, maybe a week's worth of checking in, because my mom had a couple of falls. After that, we had them check in on her in the morning and at night. When she was almost 98 years old, we were using quite a few hours that amounted to thousands of dollars. It gets expensive, but it's the convenience that's nice about it. They did get to know my mom and everybody. They will notice if something's wrong or if she looks like she's not quite happy. They're there if you want to use them. They're very good people. She had a lady there who was a professional, making sure that my mom got the help she needed. The people they would bring in are more CNAs or assistants who had skills, but they weren't certified nurses. They could give physical therapy, occupational therapy, help with showers, walking my mom to lunch, and back to her room. They could have overnight service, where if my mom were to get up and need help going to the bathroom, they could offer that, but that's contracting for eight hours. They did almost everything, including cognitive therapy.
