I can't say enough about FirstLight HomeCare of Hudson Valley. Craig listened attentively to everything I needed to say about my mom and her needs. He clearly wanted to understand so he could recommend the right person to work with my mom. He sent Charlene and my mom (an introvert by nature and unsure about having a stranger hovering about) liked her immediately. Now, mom looks forward to Charlene's visits. My mom's overall function and mood are dramatically improved. She's doing more for herself and letting Charlene help her with the things she can't do. Craig has made several calls to check in and make sure all was going well. This is a great, caring agency, and I am very grateful to have found them!

FirstLight's care and services are very good. They do housework and are very good with keeping the schedule that I ask them to set for meal-time for my father. They give him his breakfast and lunch, take him out for walks, do activities with him, and give him exercise every day. All of the caregivers are very attentive to him. I trust my father with them. They are one of the least expensive companies that I found. I will absolutely recommend them. However, there have been times where we have been left without a caregiver, so my mother has to deal with my father without anyone there. They do not have a good back-up plan. As far as the care itself, they are awesome and excellent. They deal with them very well.

My experience with FirstLight has been excellent. Everything about the administrator, management, and the home care person is excellent. They’re on time and organized. I don’t have any problems at all. They are conscientious, caring, and reliable. We have been using them for four months now.

My father was a resident in a retirement community and they gave me a list of home care agencies. FirstLight was the first on the list so I decided to go with them. I am satisfied in all ways with their services. My wife and I were going away for a period of time and my father probably didn't need much help but we didn't want him to be alone. So three different people from the company spent time over a period of 4-5 days. When we returned he felt that he didn't really need any help and we just used a routine service. A little bit later, he recognized that he really need some help so we went back to 4-5 hours on a daily basis. So I was very satisfied with all the 3 people that the company assigned and particularly with Susan who spent the most time with my dad.

Finding FirstLight was a God-send! This agency really listens to your needs and goes above and beyond to meet them. The caregivers are positive, cheerful and take pride in the job they do.

The caregivers are good. I usually make them a list of what they can do. They give my mom a shower. I usually have a plan for dinner so they can make it for my mom. They also have great conversation with her. They are very cordial and happy. They also have great disposition. They never carry any baggage with them. They come in cheerfully. The scheduling is very good and flexible. They will always call if they are half an hour late. There is a lot of give and take between us.
