High Desert Hospice is pretty good. Weve had them for about a month and a half now for my husband. They're on top of everything. I'm the primary caregiver, and they're my total support group. We have a doctor, a registered nurse, and social workers. They give meds to my husband on time and set everything up. They also give him showers.

My mother has alzheimers her High Desert care Team was great when she was on the west side. The director who handles the on call for nights and weekends was rude and lacked compassion. My mom was moved to a great facility in the NE heights but, the care team, her new nurse and the director have been disorganized and very lacking and my moms care from hospice has been dreadful. The nurse is either inexperienced or overworked. She doesn't communicate and makes excuses for not communicating. My moms nurse on the west side communicated in a timely, regular fashion and her communication were thorough. If I had follow up questions she responded. The nurse in the heights doesn't do that. The team in the heights is competely inadequate compared to the care my mom had on the west side. Their management, specifically the on call Director is rude and lacks compassion no matter what side of town your on. This has been my experience with High Desert. I don't recommend High Desert.
