We had Compassionate Care Hospice for my mom. The staff that took care of my mom was late. She needed morphine, and she was really suffering, but they were late getting there because the shift did not change until 6:00 or 7:00 that evening. My mom was moved there in the morning, and we were told she would be taken care of right away. However, the shift did not change for the person that was originally coming that evening. We were begging, "Please help her." Then, once they finally got there, everything was OK. They sedated her. I could not understand why the shift didn't change for a new person to come instead, or why someone couldn't be there at the time she was moved over. However, once they were there, they were fantastic, and everything was fine.
