A company here in Portsmouth is taking care of my husband. It's called the Extended Family. They have women come out to help me during the day. It seems to be working out fine so far. It was recommended to me by a nursing emergency care place when my husband got out of the hospital. They have caretakers that come part of the day, the whole day, and every day in the week. They have several choices of caregivers. I signed up with them to take care of my husband. So far, it has been good. We had a little bump here and there, but it's turning out OK. They provide physical therapy, occupational therapy, and day-to-day maintenance. He is in a hospital bed in the living room and they're making sure he is clean and taken care of. They do just about everything. It helps me because then I can get out shopping and I can do the things I need to do. They started out all day and all night, but I think we're going to lower down to part of the day and maybe not even at night anymore. It depends on the care he needs, and as he gets better, they adjust to my schedule and what he needs. They're very caring and very conscientious. They keep a log of everything they've done. They're working out fine. I appreciate their help. They're very congenial. They care about me, too. They help me out so I can get out and go to the store. They do housekeeping if I want them to. They offer to do dishes and vacuum also. It's pretty good all the way around. The scheduling is done every week. They send me a schedule of who is going to be here and what time. I would recommend them.
