I would say most of the staff is very good except 1 nurse. I came in from out of town and when the PA was doing an assessment of my father I or my sister was not allowed to go in , but his step children could.

My husband passed away at the Olathe Hospice House in October 2015. I can not praise the staff high enough for the care they provided to my husband and me. I barely left his side for the month he stayed there. I watch how they gently washed him and studied him for any anxiety or pain. I found that after he passed the follow-up for grief support was great. There are 3 different groups you can join depending on your needs and expectations. I just got a call yesterday to remind me of an upcoming event. I love my angels at the Hospice House.

Olathe Hospice cared for my mother in the weeks prior to her death in 2010, and just recently, during my father's final days. I could not ask for better care than the care given by these wonderful women. They were on the phone with me whenever I had a question, they were there to organize Dad's return to his apartment from the hospital (a return requiring a hospital bed, medications, and nursing services), and they were there at the end of his life. Olathe Hospice workers are direct, honest, and gentle. Debby pronounced my father gone, and then tenderly cleaned his body and made it ready for his friends to come and see him one last time. In my view, Olathe Hospice nurses are angels who deserve a very special place in Heaven.

I am a home caregiver of a family member with Altzheimers. My family member was hospitalized at Olathe Medical Center for at least 3 weeks in this past year. Because of his illness, I consulted with the OMC hospice and home health care. I had positive meetings with them for possible care following the hospital stay. As the end of the stay neared and I was in need of support and follow throu at a most difficult time for us, the hospice and health care abruptly discontinued to answer calls with no explanation whatsoever. This was a difficult time for my family and it was very disheartening and stressful as to why such action. I called and could never get a reply. They say they offer support and comfort . I question that quality when such actions were their choice of response or lack or response.,
