Embracing Hospice Inpatient Unit

We had nurses come from Embracing Hospice to help care for my father the last week of his life. You won't find a more caring, supportive and helpful group of people. I especially love Kay and Patti; they are just so dear. Smart and helpful ladies who were always kind to my dad and were so helpful explaining to the family how the death process happens and how we can help the one dying move on to the next step.

I have not been happy with Embracing Hospice Care. We actually just had an experience today. My aunt has not been to the bathroom in a week, and the nurse came out and just listened to her stomach. The nurse told us that she was full and handed us an enema to do it ourselves. We did it, and nothing came out. We called them back, and the nurse told us to go buy something over the counter which the pharmacist told us not to use. We called them back again, and they sent another nurse out here. The other nurse said that aunt is completely impacted, and she couldn't believe that the other nurse did not check that. The caregivers have been good.

My mother used Embracing Hospice from July till mid-September. She was just an outpatient. They were incredible and I can't say enough good about them. They were all extremely kind to my mother even when she was out of her mind and being a pain. They were always professional and took good care of her. Any questions I had were always answered immediately. The social worker kept in touch with me. They pureed her food for her because she's had multiple strokes and there might have been a swallowing problem but she did fine.
