So far, I've been very underwhelmed by this company. My mother was in the hospital for a month for cardio and has been told by her various doctors she's a very unwell person because she has so many problems. Amedisys decided she only needed a nurse one time a week. I disagree. My mother told the physical therapist she didn't need her, although her doctors told her she very much did. I called Amedisys the next day to reinstate the PT. A month later, she's finally going to have her first physical therapy. I have called them repeatedly over the month, the excuse is that they're short-handed, and they promise to call me back. They do not call back. The annoying thing is that they will not set up a schedule for visits, not even, for instance, for every Monday and Wednesday. They can't even narrow it down to a day of the week, much less a time. They make their schedules the day of the visit, but the patient has no idea until they call. They call the day they're coming and say they'll be there in about an hour. She's diabetic and has to eat but if the nurse is coming in an hour, she'll delay eating until after that. Then the nurse is an hour late. I've told her to go ahead and eat and the nurse can wait on her. I don't know if all health care agencies in the area operate the same way but I do intend to check. The care that's provided, once you finally get it, seems to be thorough and caring. But the administrative part is very bad. This one seems unreliable and undependable and disorganized and understaffed.

Excellent care given to my mother. The nurses were there on time and did a fantastic job. They showed a lot of love and compassion for my mother. I would certainly recommend their services.
