I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

There was a financial game played at this Hospice and what occured was egregious. Not only is a family's finanical assets of key importance to this Hospice but it will be used and will affect how the care goes. Our brother was well off and was kept in the Danbury building despite the fact that he was no longer qaulifying for Hospice. The social worker canceled his transportation to a nursing facility twice and IGNORED each telephone call asking why the plan had been changed. This is no way to treat a very stressed, grieving, conscientious family trying to provide the best and also needing people they could trust. We couldn't trust them at all. The home care was abyssmal, and the only polite individual was the Chaplain who came to teh hosue and bothered to call. This all changed, however, once our brother was admitted (without the POA's consent) to the building in Danbury, CT. The Chaplain met with my oldest brother one time and NEVER AGAIN. None of us could get the attention of the in house Chaplain at a Hospice. How is this even Hospice care to ignore the needs of family members? There is so much more to say---meals not delivered inless we personally completed the menu, calls unanswered, misinformation given by nurses, it was a NIGHTMARE. Please do your homework before choosing this Hospice. Do not be fooled by the superficial image you see. MONEY is the priority. Save for two beautiful nurses with hearts of gold and severel kind volunteers, I could not believe what transpired here by "professionals".

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

Regional Hospice was very, very lovely. It's new. I think it was built in 2018. So, it's very clean and modern. They had excellent nursing staff and volunteers that were older men and women. When you're not there, they would sit in the room with the hospice residents, talk to them, hold their hands, and give them a lot of very loving attention (which I thought was wonderful). You can come and go whenever you want. You just have to take a test in the morning and then you can come and go any time, day or night. They have somebody that will open the door and let you in and they have a pull-out bed. So, if you wanted to stay over, you could. It's super clean. They were constantly cleaning. I didn't eat there, but they have food for the guests/families who were visiting and they were reasonably priced. My mom died right around noon, and it was nice that they didn't rush you out. All the rooms were private and they let you stay in the room to be with your family member. They brought in coffee and beverages so that you could just stay there as long as you want. They had very good social workers that guide you, talk to you, and help you, particularly with questions and things (if you've never been to hospice). They explained it well. I thought the place was very well run. It's of very high quality.
