I used ComForCare last year from July to October for my mom. They were going in once a day to check on my mom who has Alzheimer's and to try and just keep her more socially connected. They made every attempt they possibly could to clean her house, but she just would not let them. What's more important right at that point was just to have somebody talking with her and letting me know if she was declining greatly or if there's any concerns that they were seeing at that time. I live 900 miles away, so I needed their help to keep an eye on her. They would try to clean up as much as they could because she was not living in the best circumstances at her home because of Alzheimer's. The second caregiver was wonderful. She was really great with Mom and really connected with her. She made every effort to try to get in there and clean her kitchen and her bathroom and try to keep it livable for her until we can make a decision on whether or not she needs to go into assisted care. The first caregiver, unfortunately, did not work out but Chuck was really great about getting her replacement as quickly as possible for her. Chuck did a really great job in working with us. They're easy to work with and they have, not only the family's best interests, but the patient's best interests at the forefront of their mind. They gave me all kinds of resources on how I was going to deal with Mom because this is a whole new thing for me. They sent me videos, and Chuck would talk to me on the phone and reassure me, 'Yup that's part of the Alzheimer's.' So what's really nice is having those resources available, especially the videos, that anytime I wanted to just watch something, I could watch them.
