I am a past client of this provider

Nurses and CNA’s are kind the office and management is negligent at best.. We had been working with Assisteo Home Health for about 3 months. The nurses, CNA, and PT assistant were kind and communicative. Management is where things began to spiral. There were things in regards to nurse home care that came up and worked through,. We (the nurses) were able to communicate about my mom’s needs and work together to resolve any mishaps that came along, which is important in any relationship and situation.. When it came to decisions made by management I found Assisteo to be negligent in their communication and care for the patient. They screen every call that comes in, take a message, and don’t return calls. My mom was enrolled in PT had a couple of visits and then no one showed up. I reached out to the PT assistant when they did not show up on their scheduled day and was told they were waiting on approval from the insurance company. I reached out to the office multiple times ( at least 6 times) only to be told the person that handles that was not in the office or was in a meeting. After almost a 3 week lapse in PT I was able to talk to Victoria who said she never received a message that I had called on multiple occasions (again no accountability and blame other staff members). I was then told they were waiting on insurance approval. I asked why would they not communicate this with us prior to running out of visits? I was contacted by Jason the physical therapist who apologized profusely and said we had approval so we could move forward with PT (this was also not correct information and approval came about a week later) but he would have to come out to do an assessment again. We had 2 actual appointments with a total of 5 visits 3 of which were a beginning assessment, a reassessment and an exit assessment. During this time my mom regressed significantly. She is still bed ridden and was walking with a walker 4 months ago. We were in the dark about what to do pt wise during the 3 week period and were never left with a home care plan to help her not regress. I received a text from Jason (the physical therapist) late in the evening 7:30pm asking to come out the next day. He came out to do the assessment and left upset. My mom was limited on what she could do after being bedridden with no PT or guidance on how to help her during approximately a 4 week lapse at this point. She is in late stages of Parkinson’s with dystonia. He had no compassion and was upset that she was not able to sit up or willing to push to stand up. I had communicated prior to the appointment that she would cry when turning her and even rubbing lotion on her was painful. When he left we were told the PT assistant would follow up and leave a home care exercise plan so we could work with her. The PT assistant called and we made an appointment to do just that. After setting the appointment he text us and said he wasn’t authorized to work with my mom any longer. I then began calling the office to try to get some answers and again was told the Director Lisa was not in and they could take a message. No call back. I reached out to the office to reach Lisa again and “she was in a meeting .” I finally received a call back from Lisa. Jason terminated my moms physical therapy without notifying us. Lisa was defensive in our first conversation and was quick to place blame on the insurance company and my mom as well as stating she needed to get Jason’s side of the story. She called back, apologized and we set up an appointment. Lisa showed up and in our second conversation we discussed doing another assessment and leaving us with a home care plan. Lisa came with the PT assistant and my mom did the best she could. The assessment was an exit assessment to terminate her PT due to her not progressing which was never communicated to us. We weren’t left with a home care plan and were told just do what we did today. After Lisa’s visit we then found out that 19 CNA bath visits had been cancelled. That my mom didn’t need them because we have caregivers come in while I’m at work. I was never notified of this service being cancelled and again reached out to the CNA who was on the schedule and didn’t show up. I called the office and asked to speak to the director of Home Health and was told she was in a meeting (mind you, this was not the first time I had reached out to the director told the same thing and never received a call back). I told the person who was answering the phones that I would hold because they never return calls. After waiting about 10 minutes they transferred me to the director who put me on speaker in the middle of their staff meeting. I was told that the nurse Marcy told them that I had hired 24/7 care for my mom and didn’t need the bath services. First of all I work full time and have to have someone here to be with my mom and the caretaker is private pay. Secondly Medicare approved 19 visits and they cancelled them without communicating with me. Also, she doesn’t have 24/7 caregivers, she is staying with me and again the caregivers come so I can go to work. These visits were approved by Medicare and our caregivers are not CNA’s they are private pay care takers so my mom is not alone. This company avoids phone calls, cancels services without communicating with the client or family, and has blamed nurses and the patient for their negligence. If a patient has a caregiver private pay they have the right to utilize their insurance benefits to meet their needs. This company is unprofessional and I would avoid their Home Health services at all cost. They have been a nightmare to work with. Very unprofessional and extremely negligent in patient care and lack compassion for their patients and families. They blame nurses and other staff for their mistakes and assume no responsibility. I can only imagine what their other patients go through that don’t have anyone to advocate for their loved one. They don’t include you in the patients care plan and make radical decisions to terminate Medicare approved services without notification. If you are like the rest of us we have our plate full with plenty to take care of and don’t have time to spare to manage care that a Home Health company is paid to manage. Save yourself the stress and gaslighting that Assisteo Home health will put you through and get a reputable caring company to help you care for your loved one.
