My visit with Heartwood was wonderful. It’s like a village within a building. They had shops on the first floor, including a coffee shop. The assisted living rooms were small, but they all opened up to a common area, so that was nice. I liked that, it encourages the residents to be more social. They had a community dining room with a big dining table in the common area with five to 10 people per pod, so it wasn’t so big and overwhelming for someone and more personal. My only drawback is that the rooms were small and doesn’t leave room for personalization and comfort.
