Hearten House III is a memory care unit with 12 residents. They're a part of the Eagle Crest. They gave us a tour, and we picked a room because they had several rooms vacant. One of the directors of the whole Eagle Crest gave us a tour along with the director there. They showed us several rooms, and we chose one with a view. They introduced us to the nurse. There's a nurse on staff Monday through Friday, and two other workers for all shifts. We're very pleased. She sat with us and answered any questions and concerns we had, before we left. The thing I liked the most right now is how small and intimate it is. They told me that they will have activities every day for the residents to do. We saw them doing puzzles. They had a sun porch, and out in the back they had raised gardens that they could participate in. They have TV and 3 meals a day. The other thing that really impressed me is that they have eyes on every patient at least once an hour. You want to make sure they're doing things. They don't have to be taking temperatures or anything, but they make sure that they're OK. The food gets prepared at their main facility and trucked out to each of the houses. It was clean. It was open. They have short hallways, so that mom wouldn't have to walk very far to get to activities. They have places where they could go outside and sit on a porch. They have an activity room. If a family came and wanted to do some activities, they could close the doors; this room is available to use. They were so kind, so caring, and understanding. They do the meds in packs, so I won't have to worry about the meds anymore. I was very impressed. The facility has been recently remodeled with new floors, new carpeting, and painted. it's lovely and very comfortable.
