"Heritage Inn Charlottesville has been great. My parents got a very nice room. It is spacious, clean, very well-kept, and accessible. I saw the meals mom was served, and it looked really good. They play bingo. They take them out every now and then to a certain place or shopping mall. They have physical therapy and occupational therapy. They also have a few other things. Everything is well maintained. They do upgrades to the building all the time, and it's a very nice, very nice place."

"I visited Parkview at South Pantops. It was gated and you can't just walk in. It has key access to get into the building. The apartments are nice and there's somebody on site but not all the time. Fairly convenient to the shopping area and the medical facility if needed but a lot of it is the cost. The staff was very nice but it's a little hard to get in touch with them."

"Initially, it was a difficult transition to sell my home, simply because of all the things I cherished about my home, from family memories, milestones, events, and celebrations; my beautiful gardens; and all my wonderful neighbors. However, the maintenance of 2 acres of lawn, leaves, snow, and the ongoing upkeep of major equipment and appliances became a burden. However, once I saw The Independence and met so many energetic and friendly seniors like me who had a similar transition, the decision to transition become increasingly easier. I love my extended new family at The Independence. I have lived here for over a year and it was the best decision I could've made. Ultimately, I didn't give up my independence when I sold my home. I embarked on a new journey to enjoy my life and do all the things I want to do instead of because I have to do them. "

"I chose Riverdale Assisted Living for my parents. I like that they have their own room, and that was very nice. They have nurses and doctors. It's also the cheapest place that I can find for them. The facility is very clean, and the staff are all nice. "

"Though our visits usually last only for a couple hours, we enjoy the treatment that the staff shows our grammy. They respect her and are always very patient, which are qualities that are very hard to come by in an industry such as this. In our home town there are many of other assisted living facilities, but due to their lack of ability to perform the standard tasks demanded of their job, and show the required amount of respect we were forced to look for a place out of the city limits. The distance is not so bad when you think of the peace of mind you get knowing she's somewhere that she'll be taken care of. There as a sense of love and compassion at Commonwealth Assisted Living that you won't find anywhere near the area we live in which is why we truly appreciate what we have found. "

"I am a caregiver to my mother and recently had to attend a week long conference in Pittsburg, PA. I was concerned about identifying a compatible facility to provide respite care to my mother. ENVOY at the Meadows in Goochland, VA made the admission process very smooth and provided care to my mother that truly exceeded my expectations. My mother said that all of the staff were nice, friendly and attentive. My mother also stated that she enjoyed the activities (especially BINGO) and that she wants to return to ENVOY if I have to go out of town again. "It is a very friendly place, I just wish it were closer to a hospital. I enjoyed my visit to the center and would recommend anyone to check it out. It's a very cozy place and the seniors are encouraged to interact and play amongst themselves. "

"The facility is not in the best location as it is in the University area near many dorms. The staff was excellent and very caring and kind. The facility was clean, and was decorated very nicely. They took great care of Doris and she was being kept at the infirmary, as she was put there by her choice to die. THey brought hospice in and kept her very comfortable. She was clean and well cared for. The facility even allowed visitors after hours to allow the family as much time as possible with her before her death. They were always on top of her medications and her care. The facility had state of the art equipment and above average staff to attend to her every need. I would recommend this facility to anyone in need of a placement for their family members. It was a good positive place to be in a very bad and bleak time in the lives of the whole family. "

"I love that Spring Oak at Louisa was nice and clean. When I went in unannounced, they made time to sit down, talk to me, and find out the needs I had for my relative. I was highly impressed with Tara, the administrator. I felt like all of the residents there are her concern. She has shown me a lot of compassion. I loved the room. It was so nice and clean. It has a private bathroom and a big bathroom. The way that the room was decorated with a nice bed, a TV, a TV stand, and a chair was very homey. I was highly impressed. I am giving them a top rating. One other thing I like was that pretty much the whole month, they had the menu posted, so everyone knew what was going on every day. They had activities for the people there, too. There was a nice TV room that they could all go in, sit, kind of have fellowship in there, and have time to not be by themselves. They had a nice dining area. Everything I saw felt like I was in a big, classy Hilton hotel."

"My mom is a resident of Louisa Health Care Center. Everything seems to be fine. Everybody there is nice and friendly. Everything seems to be clean from what I've seen so far. They are good, the services and everything is good. They just have some plantings, and some make some little flowerbeds. They do bingo, a movie night where they watch movies, and have church services on Sundays. They have a smaller dining facility, and right now they're just doing lunch in the dining room. They bring breakfast and dinner to the rooms for them since COVID and everything has been going on. But they have an option, they go into the dining room for lunch or stay in the room, whichever they prefer."

"We made an unannounced visit to The Laurels and were greeted and welcomed by Margie who took us on a tour. We asked some difficult questions about surveys, staff ratios and staff turn around. She answered openly and without hesitation. She made arrangements for our out of town daughter to visit on the weekend. It didn't take us long to decide this was the appropriate place for my sister. Everyone is friendly and caring. Questions are welcomed and responded to promptly without judgement. My sister is well cared for by the CNAs, LPNs and the dietary staff who graciously accommodate her needs. She is content in her brightly sun lighted room surrounded by her personal things. We as a family are confident our decision was the right one."

"We have found Our Lady of Peace to be an exemplary place for Independent, Assisted and Dementia Care. We have a family member in each area and love the care they get. I am somewhat baffled by the "bad" food comments as we find the food to be EXCELLENT and freshly prepared by a Chef nightly... I recommend OLOP highly for their care of others, competitive pricing for the services provided and for the progressive care setup of the facility. The folks truly care about everyone there on a personal level. "

"We went through the transition from living at home to Memory Care about twelve months ago. Throughout the difficult decision/transition period and then during the residential time, we have experienced universal caring and concern on the part of the staff. They have been there for every need and request, and they have all gone out of their way to make my resident feel comfortable, safe, and as happy as possible. The facilities are clean and comfortable and one couldn't ask for more from the kitchen. At the end of the day, however, it is the staff that makes Linden House the outstanding facility it is. They have welcomed me as the caregiver and responded to my every concern with respect and responsiveness. But most importantly, they have taken my resident into their hearts and made her part of their family. It is difficult at best to more your loved one to residential memory care, but I, for one, take solace in the fact that she is receiving better care than I could ever offer. And I have been there and done that for seven years before we made the decision to go to Linden House."

"My mom does adult day care during the day, then she comes home with me at nighttime. It's the daycare service of JABA, which is Jefferson Area Board of Aging. I just needed a day sort of thing and there really wasn't anything else available to me at that point. They have a large room, then they have like a craft room and another room where they show movies, and things like that. It's great. I really have enjoyed them. My mom's been going there for the last two summers, then this summer it's been more. She had to go full-time because she can't stay at home by herself. It's happening great and it's working for me. Whenever there are any issues, they don't hesitate to call. I really appreciate everything that they provided for her. The staff is very attentive to her and very friendly; they call her by name. They are just really good. "
