I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My brother moved into Pioneer Care Center. He's been there 3 weeks now, and I think they're great. The staff seem to be there for every need he has, they're helping him eat, and he's got a nice room there. He's in a shared room, and that's the one he can afford. They have bus tours to shopping, or whatever they need, and they had a couple of parties, and barbecues since he's been there. They've been really good for him, and he's a lot better. The facility is really very nice, clean, and it doesn't smell like an old folk's home. They do a very good job there, and the structure is very good.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My grandmother lived at Pioneer for 9 months before she died. I am also a CNA at another facility, and I absolutely think the CNAs here do an amazing job. If there is a problem they fix it. They are very involved with their residents, and actually care about their needs. Along with the nurses. They are very good at explaining information and giving care. This facility however, is short staffed. But the staff they do have is amazing.

Sorry not sorry

I am/was a resident of this facility

I wish I would of been told that this facility had horribly insulated windows, that they would be doing constant construction during my time there ( I was there for 18 months) during this time they had a serious problem with the roof leaking where they would try to put the pink bins lining the hall to catch the water. There was a big 5 gallon bucket at the end of the south hall catching a lot of water. Then before the winter of 2016 the roof in the dining room caved in and they were supposed to fix it yet when it started to rain the roof still leaks it seems like, they tried to get the cheapest possible crew to fix it and it wasn't done right. A lot of spiders in the rooms and you have the sticky bug traps on the floor at every corner to catch them. Then you have leaky hoses in the shower Rooms. Not to mention that you have issues with CNA's who don't follow hipaa laws and they still continue to work there. I had clothes go listen to because I didn't have any proof that they came with me, they were not reimbursed. I had food from the resident fridge go missing and again I was not reimbursed because they didn't think it was important. When you go into a facility like this most of your income goes to paying for the facility. You don't have the money to constantly pay for things to go missing. The cook was completely grumpy 95% of the time and didn't like even being there. Heaven for bid he shouldn't make food for the residents. Even when things were his fault he still constantly had a bad attitude. There were a few good CNA's but they were so overworked and tired that they started to Drop like flies and find other jobs. I watched call lights go for over an hour as well as alarms go for 10 to 15 minutes and when they answered them they walked to the alarm and didn't run. It became extremely stressful. No one likes to work there, sure some of the residents are happy there but for the most part it's just a place to live. I couldn't deal with the stress. I finally left In order to find a place where I could get the proper care I deserved as well as needed.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

I hated for my grandma to have to be there, i wish she could have stayed with me, but the center was a good place. I loved how friendly the staff were and i know they took really good care of her.
