I have my father in Pleasant Ridge. He likes it over there. It's very convenient to my house and all his brothers and sisters. He's had plenty of visitors over there. It's pretty affordable, too. His payments are only like $2,200 a month. He makes $1825 on his Social Security, so he's only got to add like $375 a month. Everything's taken care of. They cook all his meals for him, do his laundry, and take care of him completely. He has nursing care, and he's got a cord to get pulled. The staff seems to be pretty good. There are occasions where they're not available, but most of the time they're available, and they're really polite. He likes to sit outside on the patio, and if it's lunchtime, they know he sits outside, so they'll come out and they'll bring his lunch outside for him. The owner is super nice. They're not perfect, but they're right up there. They're good. Most of the time, the food is really good, but one morning, they had like a hard-boiled egg and pop parts for breakfast, so he wasn't really happy about that. Other than that, it's been fine. I brought him some homemade food one day, and he said, "I didn't eat the roast because they were having stuffed peppers today, and I like their stuffed peppers." He likes the food for the most part. They have a really nice sitting area downstairs with a bunch of couches and a big screen TV. The place is really, really nice. They are having a couple of parties coming up. There's a Halloween party. There are daily activities. Value is really good because there are places in my area that are much more expensive and they're not as nice.

We toured. They don't have en suite restrooms so that for us was a complete non-starter. The other concern was we were in the building for 15 or 20 minutes and nobody even noticed we were there, so I'm concerned about the security. They're very rundown. There are cracks on the walls and even in the recently remodeled room, the heating registers were all bent and falling off, and it just didn't look like it was very well maintained. The staff walked around the building with us and showed us things. They were very friendly and nice.

My mom is here. It's a nice place. The staff members seemed nice and caring. My mom's room is pretty much spotless, except for the string that goes around the wall. When they need help, they pull the strings. It was all around the room. Her room is a good size. The dining area looked nice. It was like a cafeteria. The grounds are very nice. It has a courtyard and a smoking area. It's a country setting. They have activities.
