Due to neglect my mother- in law almost died of infection due to them not bothering to change her bandage. She is still in a rehabilitation center, had to have the hardware removed from her arm down to the bone, six weeks of antibiotics IV, blood transfusion and will need to be on pill form of antibiotics for the rest of her life. All I can say for now, getting a lawyer.

Horrible staff. Very demeaning, and condescending. Twice waiting for meds for my heart burn, to the point, was screaming out for relief.

I have a mom staying here. I live out of State. My mom is well cared for and is having a positive experience. My first impression was watching positive interactions with staff and seeing people visiting with family outside. The Administrator introduced herself and has been friendly and involved. My mom loves the food. She eats in the dining room and gets food fresh off the cart. They serve fresh fruit and cook with fresh ingredients. The nurse I spoke to was knowledgeable, not only about my moms conditions, but also knew how she liked her coffee and what she is looking forward to doing when she gets home. She was professional and friendly. I had previously read a post on another site that was negative and claimed the building was dirty. I saw the opposite. This is one of the cleanest nursing facilities I have been in.

For physical care changing ect. the staff do their jobs. Beyond the minimum, or required care be prepared for negative dramatic changes and other factors for each family. one of the first items of advice you will be told for long term care is "you will have to sell your home."

My grandpa is currently a resident at Timberview. He was at another facility about 15 miles outside of town for a couple months and was not doing well. The other facility was dark, smelly and the staff were rude. We really wanted him closer, and it took us a few weeks to get him a bed, but once we were finally able to get him to Timberview he has been thriving. The halls are clean and bright. The staff are friendly, helpful and hard working. He goes to activities and has a good appetite. The care team really listed to us when we spoke about his care and what kinds of things would prevent him getting agitated. They customized a plan of care with us to fit his needs and really involved and listened to us as a family. We finally felt listened to and as a result, my grandpa hasn't had any of the challenges he was having at the other place and he seems so much happier. I know no place is perfect, but Timberview is really trying hard to do what's right for the people there and it shows. It's an older building that has had a remodel a few years ago. The interactions we have with the nurses and CNA's are generally pleasant and we regularly see them engaging positively with the other residents there. We visit him regularly and are involved. I would recommend just getting involved with your loved ones care and being part of the process. It's been a game changer for us and we no longer feel negatively about nursing homes thanks to Timberview.

My mother was referred to this facility after complications following a fracture. The staff were very attentive (almost too attentive), and were very quick to respond to her needs. She had a very nice room, and the location is pleasant. The physical therapists are top-notch, and are very careful, yet at the same time encouraging. My mother made huge strides in her recovery, thanks to Timberview.

My mother has been in several care facility's throughout California . We needed to bring her to Oregon to be near us. This absolutely would not have been possible without Admissions Director Dennis's guidance and help. He is a genuine , caring , amazing person. The moment we walked through the door he welcomed us with open arms . This facility is just what my mom needed. She is totally happy , smiling and comfortable. Staff is super cool and like a family. Thank you Timberview!!

When I was told from the Salem Hospital that they found a bed for my Dad's rehab at Timberview across from the hospital in Albany - I was not happy! We had wanted him in the Mennonite Home and there was no space. I then told the facilitator to find a place in Salem because I would never put my parents in that care facility because of the impression I had from the 80's and early 90's. She encouraged me to take a tour and meet the director and so I did - I can't tell you the difference from then til now. Unrecognizable to say the least! The director was amazing, friendly, and truly has a heart for the people he serves. The staff was always friendly, kind to our family, and had him back in shape in no time! The PT and OT that he received was very professional. I was impressed that even on Christmas morning when I picked him up he had already been to therapy - so much better than the last experience we had 5 years at the Mennonite Home. I can't say enough about the care he received and the compassion that was given to him. Please don't let the memories of the past keep you from making this choice - I'm so thankful that I toured, met Dennis and made this choice for my Dad!

My mother has been residing at Timberview for about three years. She picked this care facility out for herself. We found it to be clean and the staff very caring and friendly. As her dementia has progressed to a more difficult stage her care continues the same, with much love and understanding. They have provided many fun activities, Bingo being her favorite. Something I found interesting, they are a pet friendly facility, so we can bring our small dog for a visit. The nursing care mom gets is very professional and they keep up on her medical problems. I feel confident moms life span has been extended because of the care she receives. I have not hesitated to refer friends who need such care to check out Timberview Care Center.
