My mom was at Parkside Health Care Center. She was here for almost three weeks. The staff was nice. They were very accommodating. We needed to come in and get some power of attorney stuff done when my mom was super sick, and they allowed us to come in and get that done. The executive director of the facility was very nice and was sort of helping us to get give us a heads up of when my mom was going to be discharged so we could find a place. We didn't eat there, and she wasn't too keen on the food. I didn't see any amenities. It's very a nursing home-oriented, like people were just sort of hanging out in their rooms or in bed kind of thing.

I am the grandchild of a resident at Parkside. On 4/3/16 They had a fire alarm go off. I have never in my life see such mismanagement. Not one single employee followed the fire route posted on the wall. I personally was told not to use the nearest exit, I asked why and I was told " I don"t know".. NOW THAT'S PROFESSIONAL.. We have aides wandering around holding on to a fire extinguisher like it was her life gear! The poor residents were being tossed every which way. This place is in serious need of some training before someone get hurts!! This does not include the stench of urine the place has. I understand things happen but I do not find it a good thing that family has to come in to visit a loved one and not only empty the bed pan that's sitting in the room that several aides have already been in and did not empty.I also had to empty trash and use air freshners just to make the room livable..

We chose Parkside for my father because my mother in law was in another facility with the same group. The staff is excellent. They are very loving, very caring and they pamper him. The rooms are very good and very clean. He liked the food there. I would definitely recommend them.
