"I am very, very happy with it. Mom participates in crafts and gets together with some women and do jigsaw puzzles. She has become social and joined some friends in the dining hall. The staff is great. They are very friendly and accommodating. Her room is beautiful. They provide transportation to doctor's appointments, if you need it. They also do outings, like grocery trips or to the art museum. They have a lot of different activities that you can participate in. They have a health center, a library, a theater, and an arts and crafts activity center. It's pretty much all inclusive."

"The Kenwood by Senior Star was very nice, the residents seemed very happy, and the staff was very friendly, outgoing, and helpful. The rooms were very nice, spacious, and very clean. I would have no problems placing a relative or loved one in there. I got a very good impression of it mainly from the residents because they seemed very happy."

"My mother has been at Seasons for a couple of years now and I can't say enough about them. My mother was never very social but all of the dining room gals treated her like a friend. Recently her needs changed and I had to make the decision to move to assisted living. I was in SHOCK at how easy the move was. I can't say enough about Sharon, the nurse manager and her team. Karrie is the move coordinator and she kept me sane through the process. I am so appreciative of everyone there for taking care of both of us. "

"Stay away from this facility! Staff is lazy, untrained and uncaring. Residents hygiene is not attended to, laundry is rarely done and any request is ignored. Staff is not responsive and is full of excuses. I am very frustrated with this facility."

"I have to say that the memory care was the most excellent part of our visit. We liked it better than the other area because so much was happening and all the residents were involved, but not in the same thing. The memory care director is top notch as well, we were very impressed with her understanding of our mom's diagnosis. She gave us tips and invited us to a monthly support group even if we did not choose to move there. Very very refreshing! "

"My friend is in Barrington of Oakley. The staff is excellent. The apartments are also excellent. My visit there is a wonderful experience. "

"We are going to be using Deer Park Assisted Living for respite care for my husband. It's very good. The person in charge was lovely. She showed us around. She explained everything thoroughly. I just love her. I think she's wonderful. Everybody's well taken care of. They're making improvements right now. They're freshening up with fresh paint and creating gardens. They're taking care of the place."

"I visited the independent living community of The Summit of Blue Ash, and I liked it a lot. It's just that their 1-bedroom with a den is not really a 1-bedroom with a den. It was more of a 1-bedroom with a small corner that you could do something in. It wasn't even a room, but just like a larger closet. My siblings are literally down the road from where the facility is, so it's convenient for all of them. I like that it's centrally located. The facility is brand-new, so it's nice inside. Meals are all included, but they have a full-size kitchen in the rooms. They also have room for a dining room table and a living room area. I would prefer to have their 2-bedroom apartment because I want an office that is also a sewing room, so that's what I need the second bedroom for. If my kids also come, I have a second bed that they can sleep in. Even though the facility provides an apartment-type thing that they could stay in, that's on a first-come, first-served basis, so if somebody else has it reserved at the same time, then one would get it, and one would not."

"My mom has moved into Traditions of Deerfield in Loveland, and she's been there for a month now. It's a very nice place and she feels safer. She gets a lot of the necessary attention she needs and she seems to be pretty content. Her room is a pretty good size, it's a studio and it's pretty big. She has a big size bathroom. A lot of others we saw were pretty small and the showers were very narrow but hers are wide and easy to get in and out and to accommodate handicaps. They're very attentive to her. She seems to be satisfied with the food and she has good choices, too. She likes it pretty well. They're very personable and professional. We get calls if there's any concern, and they keep the family informed. They have a lot to offer to residents when it comes to activities. These places are expensive wherever you go but I'd say this place is worth it. It's very wide open and it's secured too."

"My sister is in Silverfern Cincinnati North. We chose it because it had everything included, so that's utilities, cable TV, and internet access. She got two meals a day included too. It encompasses all of her normal expenses. It's fairly new for us, but we're pretty happy there. The size of the rooms is fine. It's a very nice facility. They have a nice dining room, a nice lobby area, and an indoor pool. All of it is well maintained. They have a workout room, a movie room where they do movie nights, and a pottery room where people can go and paint pottery and do art. They also have a general art room and a game room where they have the typical card games and dominoes and that kind of stuff. They have a nice outdoor enclosed area where they have a fire pit, some chairs, and covered picnic tables and stuff. You can go outside that, and there is also a walking trail around it. It's open for pets. My sister likes dogs, so she can go out there and sit and have the dogs come up to her. So, it's nice for her to have some exposure without having to have her own pet that she has to take care of. The staff members have been so far very helpful. Their maintenance guys came in and helped us get stuff set up. One of the maintenance guys fixed her walker. The staff that does the program seems very nice. The dining staff is good. My sister likes the folks there. I haven't heard her say anything negative about anyone there. It's always been pretty positive. They have art classes, exercise classes, big ball yoga and stuff like that. They have popcorn on movie nights. They have party things where they go outside and enjoy the great outdoors. They have a virtual reality room where you can go and play video games. They have a small library, but it's not like a public library with hundreds and hundreds of books."

"My mother was here at Cedar Village for 8 weeks. This facility is topnotch. The reason we put her there is because they have one of the best rehabilitation centers. They also have assisted living, an Alzheimer's unit, a Dementia unit, and apartments. They have everything that you can want. They also have home care service. She was in the dementia unit. The rooms had a nice view, a refrigerator, an easy chair, a TV, a bathtub, and a dresser. The only problem we had with the staff was during the holidays. They would bring in outside nursing staff to fill in. The outside staff was not familiar with the medications and the time it should be given to her. They were a lot of activities although my mom couldn't take part in them since she had hip surgery. They have musical groups come in, bingo, and all kinds of things. She had a speech therapist that comes every single day. "

"We really like Evergreen. It feels established like it has been there a long time. It's an old property, but they take pretty good care of it. They foster a sense of belonging. It isn't like an institutional setting, and the people are really nice, so it seesd to be the best setting. I like the history and the setting. The layout seems pretty easy for most of the residents there. They have a variety of rooms. We only saw two different styles of rooms; we ended up putting my mother-in-law in one of the one-bedroom units. The efficiencies and one-room units are too small. They have villas and separate homes near the facility. They have quite a few facilities there. She's in independent living, so they have signups for activities, shuttle service for various things, and you can walk around outside. It's pretty warm, but it's in a very wooded area. It's okay for someone who has the ability to walk. They have two levels on each wing. She's on a lower level that has a patio, which is ideal for her. They have a beauty shop and a gift shop. The move-in went really smoothly, and access to her apartment is really good. The good thing is she can come and go for the most part. Everybody's apartment has a little window and a little inset where you can put a couple of chairs, a bench, or a plant. "

"Covington Ladies Home is small and personalized. It's been a lady's home for 125 years. It's a big old mansion, but it's very well kept and updated. It's beautiful and they keep it very clean. The staff is very caring and that's the most important thing. My mom has been there for almost five weeks now. She loves the food. The staff everyone I've dealt with is very friendly and on top of things. They call me for every little thing. The only drawback for a 125-year old building is there are no individual toilets in each room. There are sinks, vanity mirror, but you have to go two doors down for a toilet and shower. I thought that doesn't really bother her or me much. But it would be great if they could get modernized and put in bathrooms in each room. "

"I toured Charter Senior Living of Mallard Cove. It had a positive vibe, and everything was nice and clean. The apartments were very spacious. The model homes that they showed were very nice. The grounds were well-kept. It seemed like a nice facility. I was impressed with the three meals a day for the price they offered, the variety on the menu, and the service for helping people wash their clothing. The laundry room and all of those things were nice. I was very much impressed."
