"My mom is at Kingswood Nursing Center. It is an all-inclusive facility. It has assisted living, skilled nursing, and hospice all in one as well as physical therapy. It seems to be the perfect fit for my mom. They have a secure Alzheimer’s unit, which she needs, so it is exactly what she was looking for. The room is adequate. It is not luxurious. They do have mostly shared rooms. My mom is in a shared room, and it is good enough for what she does. She just goes to sleep in the room, and she spends most of her time in the common areas. They have worship services, word play, and a chair-type play that they do. They try to keep the residents active, and they try to keep their minds alert. We’ve checked out other places, but when we got to this place, my mom acted as if she were at home. "

"When I had surgery, I was in Pinehurst Healthcare & Rehab for a couple of weeks. The facilities were kind of bare and barren, but the people are excellent. It's much smaller. It wasn't decorated at all, but the service is good. The rooms are kind of barren and not homey-looking at all. The bed is comfortable, and the people are very warm and welcoming, and that to me is more important than what the place looks like. If I need to go someplace, they took me in a wheelchair. I could go out in the garden in the wheelchair and do what I wanted. It's not a cozy place, and older people like cozy. They have a very good physical therapist. The rooms were not nearly as nice or as big as others. It depends on your outlook, but it's a whole lot cheaper than other places. One thing I would complain about there is the food. I used to kid to the chef because I asked him if he knew what S-A-L-A-D spelled. I don't think he ever gave us a salad but he finally did after I kidded him enough about it. When you're not moving around too well there, you need something that could go down easy, and the salad will do that. "

I slept good at night knowing they are highly selected professionals in their field that excel at what they do. I appearance, it may not seem world class at first glance but when I examined the care provided, it just might be. Doctor and nursing care is very responsive and knowledgeable. Building care and maintenance is clean and fresh smelling. Administrative staff is up to date on the ocean of legal changes and care billing guidelines. Staff all interact and communicate well. I felt mom received the best of care. If you want swanky, keep looking. If you want great care you can trust, look no further. I feel blessed. "
