My mother is in TerraBella Indian Trail. She's in memory care. There's plenty of staff there, and they're always willing to help out. They have a community room. They have a really pretty outdoor space. They play music a lot, which is good for my mother. She loves music. The individual rooms are big and bright. It's not super fancy, like libraries and so forth, but it's good for her needs. They try to go outside in the morning and play music. They have an activity in the morning and an activity in the afternoon. They paint and do little projects. The place she was at before was busier and more activity-related, but my mother likes the calm. She likes not having a whole lot of choices. That gave her anxiety. For someone who needs a calm environment that's pretty and where the food is good, that's more their speed. I've had one meal, and it was very tasty. I had it with my mother. I've also seen that if a resident didn't like what they were having, they would make something like a BLT and bring it to the resident. They're very good at attending to the residents where they are. I don't see the residents unattended. The rooms are big, beautiful, and bright. All memory care communities are expensive, but it feels like home. It's a good fit for her. The workers are really good. They're always around, and they're always interacting with the residents. At the other facility, if you went on a weekend, you could hardly find anyone to help you. They don't have that problem here. For me personally, it's peace of mind. I don't really see a lot of activity going on. I see more sitting and lounging than up-and-about activities. I'm not there during the day, so I haven't really witnessed it. They're more on a set routine, where they do the same things every day at the same time. It's a little bit more structured. I feel at ease with her being there. If you're in the early stages of dementia, you might want a place that's got a lot more activities. My mother is in the later stages, so being in a calm environment is a little bit better for her. Just because they don't have as many or as big activities, it's not a negative in my opinion. It depends on the person.
