Welcome to Falls Home Assisted Living Center! The Falls Home has been serving the needs of our elderly since 1973.Our home like setting meets the needs of individuals who are relatively independent as well as those who would otherwise qualify for skilled nursing, but prefer to reside in a more independent, less costly setting. Residents receive 24 hour supervision, assistance with their activities of daily living, medication management, meals, housekeeping, laundry, and participate in a host of social, cultural and religious activities. It is our goal to provide our community with a professional, caring dedicated staff, respecting the dignity and individuality of those we serve while at the same time enriching the quality of their lives. The Assisted Living Program (ALP) is a 40 bed facility which is licensed by the NYS Department of Health. The ALP is an entity established and operated for the purpose of providing long or short term residential care, room, board, supervision, while providing personal care services for individuals who might otherwise require skilled nursing services but at about half the cost. "My dad is already placed at Elcor. The staff are well trained and very kind. The most thing I am impressed with is that they're re-directing their patients instead of trying to tell them what to do or tell them that they're doing something wrong. They re-direct them and get them onto something different if they're too focused on something. Also, I'm pleased with their dining area because they put him with people who are at the level he is at as far as communicating and as far as their dementia levels. He is in a room with people who are doing things on their own, which I thought was great. Elcor needs some updating, but other than that, it is a great place. The staff is great, and they listen to your concerns. They're very good. But they just could use some money maybe put into the facilities. Maybe at least 3 times a day, there is something different going on for them. They range from coffee and cookies to parties to movies and happy hour. There are different types of games. My dad is doing a lot more things than he was doing before he went there. They keep them busy. "

"The exterior of this facility is pleasant. The interior may be tidy, but it is reminiscent of an out-dated elementary school. The staff was young, and seemed more concerned with planning their night's activities and cell phones than the relative comfort of their residents. "

"My mom is now at Evergreen House. I chose it because there are only six residents, and she gets more one-on-one care. She exercises every day, and they eat their meals together. They just entertain them. The food is wonderful. Everything is excellent. It's very homey. It's just beautiful. My mom shares a room. They have somebody come in once a week to do her hair and nails. They drive her to her doctor's appointments. They just treat them so wonderfully. For this Friday they did pizza and root beer floats and just tried to snap them out of the winter blues. They just do fun things with them. The place she was in before was the most awful place in America. It was terrible, terrible, terrible, and we were so happy to find this place. "

"Look Elsewhere. My aunt was put here after her stroke. When I went to visit her she was slumped over in a wheelchair with no help in sight. She also had several articles of clothes stolen. Needless to say she was put in another facility. The head of the department never returned any of the phone calls our family made. We also called and tried to talk to the head nun at the time but again, no returned calls."

"The staff at The Barton Adult Home are very caring and treat my mother with the special attention that she requires as she is a Dementia patient. The director believes in keeping the residents active which benifts them both physically and mentally. She is taken outside whenever the weather permits and every effort is made to make her life safe and comfortable. I truly felt blessed the day that I placed my mother in their care. "

"The atmosphere is friendly and inviting. Everyone is always helpful. They keep the building in good condition and clean. You expect to smell something terrible when you think of a nursing facility, but when you walk in you don't get that. They offer a lot of activities for the residents and that keeps them also happy and makes it easier to visit when they have something new to tell about what they have been up to. The cafeteria is a great place to visit, they have lots of choices and good food as well. There is a lot of different places to take the residents when you are there to visit. There is a dining room, a day room and a elevator sitting area on every unit, as well as a downstairs lobby, activity room, and 2 different outdoor locations to sit, relax, and enjoy talking to everyone. The building is accessible and very easy to find. The only complaint would be the parking lot is kind of small and there is a bit of a walk to get to the main entrance door. In all I believe most everyone is happy to work there and they show it. It makes it easier to want to go back each time and know you will always feel welcome and be comfortable. "

"I live in Colonial Square Senior Village, and I'm very happy and content here. They have multiple activities that you can participate in or not. You're not locked in to anything and you don't have to do anything you don't want to do. You're free to come and go as you wish. I'm grateful there's a place like this where I could come. They do not serve meals, but they have a potluck every month. Nothing is mandatory. They have card games, a Pinochle group, Scrabble group, once-a-month luncheon, and transportation. Last month, they went to Indian Hills Golf Club for lunch. They have birthday parties for people whose birthdays are in that month. They bring in meals to the individual apartments whoever wanted to buy a meal. The staff is extremely good, but there's not enough staff because there are 107 units and only one maintenance guy. I have a lovely one-bedroom apartment, and I'm going to move up to a two-bedroom to have a little more space. I have a private patio. They do not provide washers and dryers, but they do provide a hook-up and if you want to provide your own, you can have your own in your apartment. It is ADA compliant. The doors are 36 inches wide, and they provide you with bathing facilities to fit your particular needs. I have a walk-in shower and they have provided me with additional stability bars. They have recently put in vending machines."

"The rooms were large enough for my mom who had dementia and has since passed. The staff was very accommodating when they could be but they are "DEFINITELY UNDERSTAFFED" which prohibits everyone to get the Quality Care they deserve when they need it. I do not blame the staff as they know what they are doing... but MANAGEMENT need to hire more staff as the current staff is run ragged. I noticed this for the 9 months mom was in there from rehab to the dementia unit. I helped where I could even with a patient or 2. I felt sorry for the staff and aides. Please get more staff before you think about expanding and take care of what you have already. The activities were more than adequate. Air Conditioning would have helped immensely too instead of paving the parking lot. "

"We visited Longview. We like it, but Mom was not as into it. We kind of felt lost because all the walls and the carpeting were of the same color, and she couldn't quite figure out where she was. However, we liked the dining room. The rooms were very small, and they were like hospital rooms, but I thought it seemed like a good place for somebody who needed those services. "
