I went to Elcor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center to visit a friend a year ago. The facility was really good. They had really nice people there. They pretty much pay attention to detail. As soon as that person called on the call button, they came right in. My friend had a shared room and basically they had a curtain between them. They also have private rooms for $30 more. They have a physical therapy area where they have almost like exercise machines. They had quite a bit of staff in there. They had a dining room which they encouraged you to go down there, and since he was taking physical therapy for his leg, they asked him to take his walker and stuff like that to work out on his leg. They also have a barber come in twice a month for you to get a haircut.

My father in law had bed sores, was barely bathed and their med nurse Terry would be condescending and rude to him. He died from ALS which was worsened by his stay there. We showed up one day and he was sitting alone in a hall screaming!!! Now they have the nerve to charge us for his horrible care. As soon as you walk in the door your hit with a strong smell of urine. I would rather die than be sent here.

I would give zero stars if that was an option. My father went to Elcor for rehabilitation, was only supposed to be there for 2 weeks, but they took such negligent care of him that he got sepsis from bed sores infected so bad you could see bone. He is now in the local hospital where is now in Comfort Care and dying from the horrific wounds and sepsis he got at Elcor.

My dad is already placed at Elcor. The staff are well trained and very kind. The most thing I am impressed with is that they're re-directing their patients instead of trying to tell them what to do or tell them that they're doing something wrong. They re-direct them and get them onto something different if they're too focused on something. Also, I'm pleased with their dining area because they put him with people who are at the level he is at as far as communicating and as far as their dementia levels. He is in a room with people who are doing things on their own, which I thought was great. Elcor needs some updating, but other than that, it is a great place. The staff is great, and they listen to your concerns. They're very good. But they just could use some money maybe put into the facilities. Maybe at least 3 times a day, there is something different going on for them. They range from coffee and cookies to parties to movies and happy hour. There are different types of games. My dad is doing a lot more things than he was doing before he went there. They keep them busy.

My dad was at Elcor Nursing Home, one of the best nursing homes in the area. The place is clean, and the staff was very good and very kind.
