Mullica Gardens Assisted Living was very beautiful, new, and state-of-the-art. It's strictly assisted living. They don't have any rehab or healthcare. The prices increase based on the level of need. The woman who walked us around was very nice, very knowledgeable, and has been there a long time. It's a big facility, and it's nicely laid out. They have an indoor track where people can walk around. The rooms were nice and a good size. They welcome families to give them the same experience as if they were at home. There were people sitting in the TV room when I visited.

Aside from being dark and outdated, the rooms and facility is decent and seems clean overall. The issue is with staffing and food. There definitely is not enough support for the number of residents. Elderly people at the end of life are equivalent to toddlers who need a lot of support. 2 aids for 40 or so folks is definitely not enough to meet their needs. One on one care is very infrequent and brief. The food is horrendous and very low quality. Must be bottom of the barrel cheap. Sounds good on paper, but lousy according to the residents who used to be able to cook real food. Services are limited for those needing more non medical help like with bathing, dressing, eating, drinking, etc. It is almost impossible to reach or find a live person who isn't overwhelmed, again way understaffed! The staff does not communicate, so if your LO needs more help, not sure what options are available to get additional services. I am sad to see my loved one and others neglected so much.

My mom is in Mullica Gardens. It is an excellent community with great staff. The rooms are nicely decorated, as well. The activities they have throughout the day are exercises and games, like bingos and puzzles. They also have people coming in to put on shows. So far, I don't think they need to improve on anything.
