I visited the independent living community of Hillcrest Highlands in Gretna. You can bring your pet there, and they have beautiful accommodations. It had movies and other activities for people. The meal we had that day was prepared by a chef, which was impressive. They were clean, and the place was just a year old. The rooms had a lot of outside lighting because of the way they were designed. They had people who lived there who went along with us during the tour, and they seemed to be pretty happy there. The staff members were also very accommodating and knew their stuff.

I will move into Hillcrest Highlands. There were several that I liked in the area, but this one is closest to my children. That's why I chose it. They have a full kitchen, washer, and dryer. It's got a living room and a bedroom. They have a restaurant and a meal plan, so part of your meals are included, but if you want more than they include, you can buy the rest of your meals or have company in and feed them through the meal plan. Angie is very good and nice. The facility is brand new, and it's clean and neat.

Hillcrest Highlands was clean and new. The community residents were friendly and welcoming. They had particular types of extracurricular activities that my mother would like. They have mahjong and canasta. She plays cards and they have the card groups. They also have a book club. It would be close to the church that she wanted to go to. It has the option for a patio home and that's what she wants.
